You still have to set up the machine. Automated is the pinnacle, you should practice with manual presses (even a manual progressive like a Dillon 550c) before you go automated.

I can't agree with the above statement more. Automated operation does not mean automated setup.

My recommendation for a beginning reloader is always this:
https://kempfgunshop.com/Kempf_Kit_w/_Lee_Classic_Turret_Press_-90064Kit-6575.html

I use this press and it is a happy medium between slow single stage and expensive true progressive. I like that you can set up your dies in a turret and leave them set up. I probably have seven to eight sets of dies ready to go at any time. It's amazing how fast you can crank out ammo once you get a rhythm going. I like the fact that to add another caliber, all I need is a set of dies ($20-40) and another turret ($7-10).

They are pretty popular presses and there are some available upgrades. This company makes an auto ejector https://inlinefabrication.com/produ...ic-turret-reverse-rotation?variant=1175544236

Of course they are not without faults. The auto indexing can break but it is a cheap fix. They are also slower than a true progressive. If you are going to absolutely ONLY reload for one or two calibers I would say go Dillon. I personally reload 380, 9mm, 45 acp, 44 Mag, 357 Mag, 45/70, 22 Rem Mag, 223, 308, 22 Hornet, 41 Mag and 221 Fireball and for me this press works great. I have about 17 years on my current press and I have no plans to upgrade.
