Weird Mini-14 / AC556 stock - what is it?

View attachment 35074View attachment 35075About two years ago I bought a factory wood stock that was supposed to be for the AC556. It has a cutout on the right side that looked right for the selector mechanism.

However, the inletting for the rest of the AC556 select fire parts was not done. The action wouldn't fit.

Any idea what this was for? It sure looks factory.

didnt atchison make a couple of conversions with a weird twisting selector back there?

Who ever did this conversion is the manufacturer of it, I think at least.
