So, I did a thing…

Going to try to post pics, we will see!!

Guy had a parts kit for sale.

Looking at the pics, what really interested me was the (apparent) chrome barrel and it was threaded.

Next came the bolt (complete) and the lower (complete).

With what I’ve seen about not being able to find barrels and extractors, figured I’d jump on it.

Looks like it was a Palmetto State product from a few years ago.

I’d be interested in anyone’s input on

1.What these were going for when they were available

2. Any ideas on the barrel? I don’t see any markings on it

3. I grabbed it for 400 shipped. Deal? (doesn’t really matter, I wanted that barrel!!!)

Dave

Seeing as how barrels could go for anywhere from $200-$300 alone (maybe more), I'd say you did alright. Particularly since you got a full lower, and a repair section.

Palmetto State Armory had nothing to do with your UZI kit. The label that you have pictured is from an AR 15 lower parts kit. The person you bought this from just recycled the plastic bag to store/ship the kit.

Are you sure the barrel is chromed? From the pictures, it looks to be “in the white” a.k.a. unfinished; my educated guess is that it’s a pike arms barrel. They run good, so no worries there. I haven’t seen them in stock for a while, but when they are they sell for about 140 bucks.

All that being said, you got a pretty decent kit for a good price.

Yea, I think most parts kits are around 450 without a barrel so you did ok.

Curious.
Haven't really looked the barrel over but...
How to tell it is "in the white" vs "chrome"?
Thanks

Buy a bottle of cold blue from gun shop. Rub some on inside of barrel with a Q-tip, if it turns blue, it's not chrome lined.
+1...also if you try Parkerizing, it will change color as well. Chrome will still be shiny if you try Parkerizing it.
