UZI Talk Supporter
Hey all, over on Survivor's SKS boards, an expert member who's also a lawyer finally got some clarification from ATF regarding SKS parts count, and much to everyone's surprise it is now stated in writing that the rifle actually has two parts less than was originally thought (it only has one disconnector and the piston extension does not count as an operating rod according to this new letter).
Anyway, it got me to wondering if the debate over the UZI hammer was ever settled. I have a copy of the Nov 10, 1998 letter concerning the Norinco 320 UZI which has the hammer crossed out. I remember that there was talk of another reference saying that the striker assembly counted as a hammer, but I can't find any actual ATF letter that says this. So is there any later letter specifically addressing this issue, or is it safe to say that the UZI has no hammer?
