Oh- I agree with you. But I assume your talking carbine then XM177e2? type? I have one as well (well xm177e2 clone (11.5 inch barrel with permanent flashhider attached)), but I wanted a longer barrel so I have this as well.

Nice repro. I consider the 653 to be the high point of the M16 development. Light weight, compact size but still controllable. After that, they went tacticool.

Not necessarily a clone, but just a super light weight carbine. Laugh at the New Frontier Armory receiver, but it works with no issues.
