When I was having FTF problems, it turned out that the extractor was too long and was actually holding the base of the ctg. away from the bolt face and at an angle. When it tried to chamber a shell at an angle other than straight on, it ended up stove piping the loaded round(s).
Once I got and installed another extractor (shorter by a good .040") my problem went away.
Everything I read tells me the full-sized and mini extractors should be the same but I just found another "long" one. Are there length differences in FA vs Semi extractors? Or maybe open bolt vs closed bolt?
I know the extractor hooks are slightly different but this is the "heel" of the rim relief notch sticking out of the bolt face.
