Seeing conflicting info online naturally.

Just wanting to cover my bases. I have some small lots of ammo for sale and don't want to get tangled up into any stupid state laws.

In general, No.
Massachusetts is very strict compared to other states when it comes to buying ammo.
In MA, you need to have a license to buy or possess ammunition.
To buy ammo in the state, you must be at least 18 for long gun and at least 21 years old to buy buy handgun rounds.
Ammo purchases must be conducted face-to-face. Additionally, all federal laws apply in the Commonwealth.

So i take it ammo would have to go to a ffl for pick up then?

I mean it's getting in the state somehow.

I know when i ship pre 94 mags there i just get a copy of their permit for my files.

This is what Target Sports asks for - a faxed copy of your LTCa. I get ammo shipped to me in MA all the time from them (well, when it's available), UPS.

Few places will ship to a non-FFL in MA
due to position of the MA AG (they say it is illegal without a
MA ammo sellers license which requires a physical location
In MA and subjects seller to all MA laws and executive regulations).

The guy says he has some kind of license for ammo.

I don't have to deal with that junk where I am and not sure what or how that applies to him.

It didn't seem to be an FFL license, and I'm ignorant of what state laws he has. That's why I was asking if it's legal to mail to him. Last thing I want to do is get tangled up in some NY style sting.
