UZI Vector/IMUI 45 conversion trigger reset issue

I have a 9mm Vector/IMI closed bolt SBR with the 45 acp grease gun barrel, bolt and lower.
The 45 conversion sat in the safe for 15 years, and I finally dragged it out.
I have tried my best to get it to cycle properly, but the trigger does not reset reliably.
I MIGHT get 1 or 2 rounds off, but then the trigger doesn't reset. If I juggle it a bit, or push it forward it seems to reset.
A gunsmith has looked at it and while not specifically experienced with UZIs, can't seem to fix it.
Any thoughts?

Using those steps is how I fixed an issue I was having as well. Just take your time, study how the parts interact with each other and make sure nothing is binding.
