Striker Assembly

Closed bolts have a separate striker assembly that the firing pin is mounted on. The bolt is never held in the open position. It always travels forward to the closed position when the first round is loaded and after each round is fired. The striker assembly gets held back in the “cocked” position, depending on the position of the sear.
