Since it is getting really hard to find a mini uzi.would it be more realistic to just buy a 9mm mac-11 (this was inspired by the "pair of 9's picture in an earlier post).:hit_it

Mini uzis are not that rare. Just got to subguns or sturm and post a WTB ad or just do a search. There are plenty available and compared to a mac11, thats like comparing a ferrari to a chevy.

It's probably easier to find a Mac and then get on the list for a Lage, but if I had the cash I'd go for a Mini.

If I were looking to buy another smg it'd most likely be a Mini or another RR M16.

+1. Mini UZIs pop up for sale on a regular basis so that's not a reason to look for something else.

I would have got the mini instead of the max-11 if I had the money. On the other hand, I'm very happy with my mac too.

The Mac is much easier to produce consistant doubles in burst fire mode than the Mini. These two guns run at the same rate of fire, however, the Mac is much more controlable and just as accurate. If you are considering keeping the Mac in factory original form, that's good. The only issues you will have to address with the M-11/9, are steel mags and the charging handel. I have covered these two topics in great detail and I am tired of doing so. If you do a search of my post's, I'm sure you will find this info on how to correct these issues with the skinny Mac. I personaly like the model-11 better than the Mini for it's controlability and manageable rate of fire. I know a few guy's at our monthly matches that run the mini's and they do very well. However, I am unable to limit the burst count with the Mini as well as I can the factory Mac.

I'll have to agree with Macaholic.

After owning and shooting both, for me, the M11 is more manueverable, it acquires a sight picture faster, and is easier to pull consistent doubles and singles. It just feels better in my hands. Now that is probably the main reason I like the MAC style weapons so much---It feels better, it just works for me. And I like my flavor of MAC in .380 the best!! Now, that's not to say the Mini is uncontrollable. It's not. It's a very controllable and accurate weapon. I'm sure with practice it's a great weapon. It just didn't feel right in my hands, so I gravitated towards the MAC.

What I would do if I were you, if you have the opportunity, is to trial each of the weapons you are considering to purchase, and see which feels better to you.

a mini uzi cost about $8000 but for just a little more, $9000, you could get a m11/9 ($3000) and a full size uzi ( $6000 ) and get the best of both worlds

Mini UZI fan here :) It's just so damn sexy looking with it's side folding stock and vented barrel. The sights are much better than a MAC-11, i mean you can adjust the Mini sights. I hate loading the MAC-11 magazines, hurts my thumbs bad. The UZI mags are much easier to load. The MAC-11 stock is not very sturdy at all, while the Mini is solid. I can shoot singles, doubles, or whatever out of my Mini UZI no problem.
