I don'y know where the "Colefire Magnum's" (7.62X25) went. I do know Century just increased the production order for them.

Richard,

Does the 7.62x25 Colefire have a locking bolt or did you just add weight to the Sterling bolt?

Why the big charging handle? Is that to add weight to the bolt also or is it to help overcome the recoil spring in the shorter tube? Or both?

The Colefire pistols are blowback operated, just like the semi-auto carbines.
The larger charging handle is needed to properly charge the bolt. The small original handle is a bit uncomfortable on your finger when used on the pistol.

I notice these pistols are advertised with a modified Sten mag, in what way is the mag modified?

Pistol with MK7 features..

Are you offering any custom services with the build? I'd be interested in one if you can make it a clone of the Mk7 -- longer receiver at the rear and longer barrel.

The owner just spoke to me about the possibility of doing a pistol with the longer receiver tail and a longer barrel. It is something we can manufacture. Key thing is the barrels. We would have to obtain longer blanks and set up a machine to run them with the different dimensions. We think we can use a carbine tube, cut to different dimensions. That isn't too practical/cost effective for one. If enough interest can be generated to support the manufacture and sale of about 20-25 of these pistols, then this could become a reality that is priced close to what a regular Colefire costs now.

All that before 8AM on a Sunday morning.....

Just wondering: What takes to convert this back to the 9mm beside the barrel change?

If you guys can make one like that pic, I'm on board.

Any other takers? If we can get the bulk of the needed buyers here, how about a run with "UT" serial numbers?

I'm in, never backed down from a promise, I'd like to have one that takes Sterling mags.

The 9mm bolt should be considerably lighter than the 7.62x25 bolt.

That's what I was curious about as well. Honestly that's the only thing that makes me a little hesitant right now as my past experience with modified mags hasn't been that great.

Just curious as to how much needs to be done to them, if its something that can be done at home, or if you guys are offering spare mags. I contacted J&G and they said they do not have spares and didn't know what was done to them.

I like the idea of the 7.62x25mm, but really don't want a pistol with only 1 magazine :goofygrin

I was also wondering if any shorter mags would be an option. The 32rd Sten mag is cool but I can see that being a little bulky at times, even just as a truck gun.

7.62X25 magazines...

This what I posted about magazines over on the 7.62X25 Sterling rifles thread.....

To be honest, I personally don't perform any of the modifications nor do I manufacture anything. I do know our Weapons Techs have spent time working thru the steps needed to make these magazines work.
The 7.62X25 magazines hold 25 rounds, 28 if you have strong hands or a magazine loader!

The instructions to have WLA manufacture for you a 7.62X25 semi-auto Sterling carbine can be found on our web site.

Once all our materials are on hand additional 7.62X25 magazines will be offerred for sale.
In about two weeks WLA will be able to accept your serviceable STEN magazine as an exchange for a 7.62X25 modified STEN magazine. The cost is $35 plus shipping.

I have added this image that shows the Colefire with the 7.62X25 magazine inserted. Note that the backside of the magazine looks different than a regular STEN mag.

It looks as if they removed the internal rib and welded a flat piece of steel across the back to support the mag.

Don't take that as gospel, I'm just assuming that's what they did, I haven't held one in my hands for closer inspection. :eek
