Will the M16, M4 really get replaced?

Something in the M16/M4 family will still be in use by the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and National Guard when the Army and Marine Corps are issuing Laser Rifles.

50/50 that the Laser System will be tested, and possibly issued on, an M16/M4 Lower.

It’s literally been discussed for 50 years.
