My PTR91 is completely interchangeable with my G3. Why pay more for a Pakistani copy than a US made one?

I know nothing about the PTR line. But if they make a 9mm US-made version of the MP5 on HK tooling for a price close to that of the POF version, then I for one would probably buy a PTR over the POF version.

But all I've seen are rifle caliber versions by PTR. If that is accurate, then POF wins if you are looking for a 9mm clone. And probably the same degree of POF-HK parts interchangeability exists if both PTR and POF are using HK tooling.

It looks like the HK SP5K will actually be coming in......complete with no paddle mag release, no 3-lug or threaded bbl, and a semi bolt carrier....... all yours for an MSRP of 2700.00

Yeah, fuck you too HK.

Way to lag about 20 years behind the consumer demand curve that you suddenly are dying to sell to after decades of turning up your teutonic noses to the civilian markets, but oh, now that military demand is low, you're in hot water with the Bundeswehr, army contracts are dwindling, and you arguably have not had a really successful design in decades NOW you'll deign to sell us your 50 year old stamped steel tech without any of the features the consumer clearly demands for a paltry $2,700.

Not bitter or anything but seriously, screw them. :finger

Well, it's already looking like street price will be around $2200 or a little lower. Depending on how many HK imports, it may drop further. Still way more expensive than MKE or POF though, but inline with some of the premium HK clone builders. Though I will point out that for that price, all of the premium clone builders that I know of are producing sear ready guns (that are threaded and three-lugged). The SP5K will definitely need work and additional parts to run a sear and that might up the cost quite a bit.

Some "Which are Good" Examples

Just curious. Over the years looking at HK style guns and all i see are the clones, Zenith and Bobcat and others, but no HK's.

Is this due to assault weapons ban?

And if clones are the only option, which are good and which to stay away from.

I was looking at the MP5K style.

Thanks
