The sheet metal ramp isn't cutting the mustard anymore.

I'm looking to get my Vector to feed hollow points reliably if possible.

So who makes the absolutely best milled ramp?

I asked BWE about doing one for me, and he said he's a year out on jobs.

yeah, that's a problem for me

every time your UZI needs work you're supposed to send it away for a year?

6 months I could maybe deal with, a year is just too long

Well you can either fix it yourself or find someone local to do the repairs.

I'm so glad I gave BWE my Uzi to do this while it was in ATF jail. Only took an additional month over the NFA transfer time right now.

well it's nice if you can work it that way

I did not mean to imply any criticism of BWE, I just find myself unwilling to send the gun off for that long

NFA collecting is far too full of waiting as it is

The NFA hobby has made me a way more patient man than I thought I'd ever be.

Just my two cents worth, "Anything worth having is worth waiting for!"

I understand your apprehension about tying your Uzi up for a year, but I must tell you, that Richard does the finest work and is the most knowledgeable person when it comes to fine tuning an Uzi. I was fortunate to be a bit ahead of the current curve wait time, it took Richard about six months with mine, but I could not have been happier with the results both in operation and appearance.

Once again just MHO/YMMV!

I don't understand why a gunsmith would need to have your gun sitting in his shop while he works through a one year backlog. The gunsmith who does all my cowboy action shooting guns is also heavily backlogged but what he does is put your name on his waiting list. Then, when he's getting close to your job he calls you to send in your gun. Neither he, nor his customers, want guns sitting around in his shop waiting to be worked on.

Am I missing something here or does the one year have something to do with paperwork?

First let me say that http://www.uziparts.com is me or more accurately my wife's company. The kids are getting older and take less and less of her time so we decided at the beginning of the year to start a site for the Uzi parts we make and eventually everything Uzi. And yes our machines SMG feed ramps are the best. These are the same feed ramps I have been installing in customers guns that support the rear of the SMG barrel.

I have tried waiting lists in the past and they only slow my productivity down. For a number of reasons including spending more time making sure guns get sent in when they are scheduled to be done, making sure I make large enough runs of parts to cover sales and repairs, not receiving guns when I need them, etc. etc..

I am working hard to get caught up on gunsmith work. Personally I would like to get to the point where I am working at no more then a 3 month turnaround time.

Well, it would be great if you could get the wait down to 3 mo., I don't think anyone would mind that wait time.

My goal for the first half of this year is to get the gunsmithing backlog down to three months or so and keep up on parts orders.
