I've run a Gemtech Mossad II on a mini SMG for about 1.5k FMJ rounds now. It has never let me down and is easily hearing safe. My reply doesn't answer your question per se, but IMO the Mossad II is a perfect Uzi can. To clean it I merely, dunk it in CLP, shake it out, and store it for my next trip to the range. I wish all my other cans worked as well.

The Form 4 for my GSL Phoenix was approved after just over a three month wait. It's home now. Here's how it looks on my Micro Uzi pistol, Mini Uzi machine gun and Uzi Pro SBR.

I have a Bowers Vers9 and my personal opinion is it is way overheavy for what it should be. That being said it was hearing safe and a pretty good sounding can.

I also had some issues with a baffle strike when using the uzi barrel nut adapter, but Mr. Bowers said that is the first time he had ever actually had someone experience that, and like an idiot I had not checked the barrel cocentricity prior to putting rounds downrange.

I have an old, huge CAC9 Bowers can that was upgraded to the current baffle design used in the Vers9.

I use the barrel nut mount and have found that I get poor accuracy when using the can. Three shots will hit the bullseye, and the next three will be off the paper.

I don't see any bullet strikes on the baffles or anything. My Vector FA was re-welded and tuned by Richard Hoffman. The barrel is rock solid in the trunnion.

It was fine on my 9mm MAC10, but I don't know, something is amiss on the UZI. Maybe it's just one of those flukey ammo problems, maybe just barrel harmonics or some weird thing.

As far as sound goes, it sounds fine to me. People say this can or that can is quieter, but unless it's measured, who could really say? "To measure is to know." Name a can, and there is some guy somewhere who swears that it's the quietest.

Sometimes people will post up videos of suppressors, but it's pointless because both your cell phone microphone and your PC speakers "clip" loud sounds.

I will say that the machining quality on the bowers can and mount is excellent and the customer service is 100%. And the vers-adapt mount system is a great idea.

UPDATE

Bowers sent me a new mount and it seems to have solved the accuracy issues.

Bowers customer service is 2nd to none. I must have had him on the phone for an hour, he sent me a new $175 mount like it was nothing.

Good people.

My cheap ass will be running a YHM R9 on my Uzi bolt gun.

I wanted a Bowers VERS 9S, but Silencer Shop hasn't had any in quite a while.
Fast forward to November 2024 and Silencer Shop still lists the Vers9, but “out of stock”. So I emailed them asking when they might have more. Received a very terse reply stating they will not be receiving more. Don’t understand why they don’t just remove it from the catalog?

It wouldn't surprise me if they don't sell all that well. That's not because they are a bad product, rather, they are a good product for a niche market. They are built to be true subgun cans, and there aren't that many subguns out there comparatively speaking. They are also durable and easy to repair, so once you have one, there is no need to buy a whole new one barring something catastrophic.

I just picked up a Bowers Vers-45 for my UZI. Runs great in both 45acp and 9mm. I was happy with the performance. Quiet in both calibers. Has that old school look and design. You can disassemble it for cleaning. Just get an adjustable spanner wrench for the front cap.

Has anyone done business with Shaw Armament? I was looking for a Curtis Tactical can but they were bought by Shaw. According to the website, Joseph Jones, the owner of Curtis Tactical is still there and doing the design work. They list the MK9 but not the CT9S.

Actually, FWIW, the new mount didn't solve the problem either.

I ended up getting a threaded mount and a KAK FBI barrel. The gun is 1/4 or so longer OAL with the barrel thread mount, but the accuracy is phenomenal.

I think that my trunnion is very slightly misaligned and the bullets were getting upset by the slightly askew path through the suppressor when using the barrel nut mount.

I never cleaned my CAC9, it looks like a PITA to get apart.

I have a Shaw MK9, a CT45K from the Curtis days, and have done business with them. I also live not far from them and have personally interacted with the owner, Joe, and several other employees a number of times. They are good folks.

If I needed another suppressor, I would go with a Shaw MK9 or a longer variant depending on application. Nothing sounds better to me than the coax design, although I haven't heard a PTR Vent 2 yet. The vent 2 is an interesting concept.

I know the Vent 2 and the new CAT cans are the new hotness but unless suppressors are no longer regulated, I won't buy a non-serviceable SMG can. I know you have all these fancy cleaners but that doesn't help if the company goes out of business and you have a baffle strike. I can get a shop to re-make any component of these older coax cans no problem.

Old school thinking there Robert. I’m right with ya. Joe just jailbroke my AWC MK9.😊 lots of red loctite.

I am interested in the SAS MK45 SMG can for the SS CMMG as long as the logo and billboard text are deleted.
