Looks like it should have an SBR stamp if that stock extends, and if it doesn't it would still need an AOW stamp for the VFG.

The open bolt semi autos have a pair of rails or tabs that secure the sear pin inside the lower receiver. This does a couple of things. It doesn't allow for easy select fire conversion because there is no sear/selector pin hole. These protruding tabs also prevent the stock's rails from completely sliding forward and and being contained inside the lower receiver.

The stock protrusion of the GB listed semi auto open bolt pistol as shown below looks to be about what you'd expect when it hits these two sear pin retainer tabs and isn't allowed full travel. Even if it's welded in place, the stock is functional and would allow the "pistol" to be fired from the shoulder.

I agree.
The only welded folding stock I recall , Was in the closed position Non-extendable and folded forward then welded.
The stock in the picture above can be used as a stock.

I'd almost venture to say .This thing has seen some FA action. But, that's just me.

Maybe there was a 16" upper that was sold separately, which is a problem as it is being sold now.

Seller is well versed in NFA lore, moreover, his/her packing skills are terrible a clear indicator to avoid this auction.

It may be in an illegal configuration but at least it's ugly and poorly cared for!

if it was welded in the folded position it would be a different story; then it would just be ugly!

I thought it had a nice patina as would be found on any fine antique.

If you're referring to the rust and scratches as "patina", I think it probably has more to do with all that stuff being thrown together in that crappy homemade case and left there to corrode rather than its condition as a "fine antique". See the rust stains on the foam?

The stock is in the same position for every single picture...partially extended. It looks like the rear part folds up and down but the rails cannot slide in or out. I still don't think the ATF would approve of that configuration though, because it could in theory be used as a really short stock. Also the vertical foregrip is clearly a no-go.

ETA: I sent the guy a message asking for clarification.
