I think kickstand is correct. I bought a bunch at one point that looked just like that. They had 2 of those spam cans in a crate.

440 count manufactured in 1975, guessing 54r
Have similar with 1980 vintage

Tspc seems to have nailed it
Probably corrosive primers

Corrosive Primers. Clean your gun after shooting like you do with muzzle loaders. Or just sell it to a prepper.

someone brought me guns to sell and one gun was a762 x54 sniper rifle

Silver tip is 148-149 grain boat tail bullet with a mild steel core, lead, and copper full metal jacket. It's a pretty accurate round when fired from an accurate rifle (1-2 moa).
