What brand of frame did you use to start a 1911 build on?

Ive done them off of colt, les baer and palmetto state Armory in the last year. All needed fitting. Closest to drop in was the PSA. Depends on what you are going for. Since I fit the barrel, slide and frame together I like everything to be oversized.

May I add to this question?

Who has frames (80% is fine for me) with a nowlin/Wilson ramp cut?

I am looking at the Jem frames and nighthawk frames. Was the Colt frame used or new ?

Used colt frame. I have never used Jem or Nighthawk. I have shot Nighthawk pistols and they are very nice.
