What Barrel End Variant Is This?

I discovered this barrel cap in my stash of parts. Why doesn't it have the additional offset step common to Sterlings? I suppose it could have been milled off but doesn't look like it. Appreciate any insights — thanks!

It looks like a P.A.W.S. ZX-5 barrel cap.The PAWS guns used some proprietary parts, but their front end tended to look more like the Canadian C-1 smg. PAWS also had hopes to arm PD's with semi auto, short barreled versions, so bayonet lugs were unnecessary.

Thanks for your replies.

I don't think it's from a PAWS because the PAWS also have an additional step (like the Mk4 bayo mount). I suppose it could be from a C-1, though; I don't have good reference pics.

The reason I'm asking about this part is because I'd like to lathe/thread it to use as a barrel nut for a Wiselite. However, if it belongs to something rare like a C-1, then I'll figure out something else.
