I did see a 50 rounder on HKParts that I will get for the PDW!

So I thought about the VFG on the bottom rail. This would certainly cause frame flex on a polymer pistol which would impede function. Plus I'm not sure it would actually be better than a traditional 2 hand grip. Has anyone tried a VFG on an autoloading pistol?

I have one on my clone MP-5K and it's great for hold the gun with your non-firing hand, especially if you don't have the "real estate" to hold it conventionally

Ya, there is a big difference between genuine "pistols" and PCCs. No question the VFG is great on a PCC / subgun action, particularly if it has a forward magwell I think. Trying to go autoloader, either fixed barrel or browning style for the shorter overall length.

yep, no question about it a VFG would be a great accessory on something as small like a MP5-k, OA-93,and other small "pistols" you are thinking of SBR'ing..........on a full length rife, it really doesn't help; IMHO.........just makes you think you look "kewl" profiling on the range :)

As well as a PTR/HK based MP5-semi to SBR conversion, consider a CZ Scorpion. It's considerably less expensive, fixed and side-folding stocks are available and, if you're so inclined, Franklin makes a binary trigger for it which is also considerably less expensive than their HK version

For my Glock 19 SBR:
RONI: steer far clear -> I've had lots of fit problems which impede function. With slide contact, with getting a silencer on, fit and finish, randomly falling apart, etc.
Hera arms conversion: meh, it works. I never use it.
Fab Defense and B&T kits both look cool, and I guess I SBR'd a Glock, so I might as well try to find something good for it. Honestly, my comment over 10 years ago (!) on this forum to steer clear of SBR-ing a Glock was probably right. Almost exactly 10 years later I did one, and I really haven't found a sweet spot for it yet.

In terms of more PCC/PDW type setups, the CZ Scorpion is awesome all day long, MP5 and MPX yada yada (I know I'm supposed to like the MP5 and MPX more, but I personally prefer the Scorpion out at the range -- $50-100 in HB Industries parts and it performs like a dream, mags are cheap and synthetic, etc), micro-Draco for com-bloc SBR, etc.

I believe the militaries of the world realized almost 100 years ago that "machine pistols" were a bad idea, and purpose-built SMGs were a better option, so, IMHO, your opinion is valid.

the easiest "pistol" for me to SBR, which didn't take me having to buying a stock, was my Polish PPS-43. the stock was already on it just had to make it functional :). the mag well makes a great vertical grip :), so didn't have to go and buy a vertical grip as well :)

Right? Id like to try it, but I don't want to spend 2k on a b&t pistol. He's using TP9, b&t makes a few more. Can anybody think of a reasonably priced option? Would need to be non reciprocating, side discharging, and large back end for cheek weld.

There's the keltec cp33, but I'd prefer something bigger than .22. I got excited thinking about a keltec p50, but it's top eject. Any others you can think of?
