I would think about as much as a new one.
Richards stuff is top notch and since there's still a waiting list
I'd imagine even a slightly used one is still worth list price.

this is just my opinion---i would say they would sell for at least what they go for new. i'm sure someone would pay a little more than new prices just so they didn't need to wait the 3 months to get one. they are worth every penny richard charges and to have one right now, i'd say $100 over new and it would still sell.

They sell new for $759 and I'd guess you can get close to that from someone that doesn't want to wait.

Hey guys - first post here. Been lurking for a while now... M11 paid for - waiting on my Form 4.

Regarding the Lage: yup , I'd certainly pay retail for a used one. I'm on the list and it's a long one........... uggh.

Anyway - thought I'd throw my .02 in on my first post :)

Thanks to you all for some great info.

Stack---welcome to the fun (well the waiting isn't fun bu the rest is!!!)

I'm sure most would pay at least list price for one that lightly used since there's no wait and Richard's products are quality items that are meant to be used....

Hey Thanks 3D .. appreciate the warm welcome. I'm sure most would as well, sounds like a great product and I'm guessing that there are plenty of impatient folks (like myself!) out there.

Heck - I ordered Recon Ord mags long before I even paid for my M11/9 !!

Thanks again for the welcome - look forward to chatting with you all once I have anything of value to add!

Stack,

Welcome to the club, prepare for a never ending drain on you bank account. NFA is a never ending expence like child support except it doesn't end at 18. As far as the Lage goes, Retail or higher is probelly a good bet. Bought one Max 11 privatly and I am on the list for a 2nd, seem like I should be geting close to having 2.

for what MrM4 SAYS,
"a never-ending drain on your bank account",...etc...
However;one must look at the positive side of things as well in that when I asked my C3 dealer what to put down on the Form 4 application on the line where it states "reason for purchase"...(or some such thing..)...he told me to type -in ..."for investment purposes "....At the time I thought he was nuts..(5 years ago...)..in that who would reasonablly expect a registered F/A weapon, such as a Mac,to be an .."investment"...??..Two years later, the price of F/A Macs basically "doubled"...It is the economic law of supply and demand, for sure....One must,..(as I certainlly do..)...view every penny spent on such items as money well spent.

Hello Sekurt,
If it was an Max-10/9 Lage upper ,I would be .."on-it,and now.."..Only the first group of 50 in circulation on those,as I understand it...
Curious as to why you are parting with your 10/45 upper ,if I may ask..??

As wise as that was I don't stop at "investment". I use Investment / To Enhace Collection, In the case that our laws get worst and they were to start a collection of these guns, I dont want any one useing "investment" as a reason to take them. I can see the anti-gunners comming up with something retarded like : Anyone who bought these as a "investment" had intended to sell them at a profit and so they are "in the bussness" of selling guns with out a licence. I'm banking on the "to enhance collection" to cover me in this senario. Its kinda a strech but it has worked everytime and I think it a good practise, OF course there is always the generic " for all legal purposes " as well which is perfectly exceptable.

I don't see the MG market decreasing much more, I know it has grown substanchly in last few years but many gun are not moving I.E. Strum and Subguns have alot of the same stuff week after week. Once the Heller Case is decided I beleive the market will rocket up wards some more. People may be waiting on the SC to give them reashurance that they won't lose there "investment". But if you can find faith that they will do the right thing, its a great time to be buying.

Hey guys - thanks again for the kind words and advice.

I certainly am no stranger to "pissing money away" as some people who don't appreciate the hobbies that we enjoy might call it. I'm a pro at spending money and I apparently have found my niche! I really can't think of a better way to spend it though. Some people buy hummels and others spend large sums on paintings ...

I was raised in the Peoples Republic of New Jersey and just hadn't had the opportunity to buy the things I really wanted until moving out to PA a few years ago... obviously, I wish I had moved here much sooner. It's amazing how many freedoms you don't have and more importantly, don't REALIZE that you don't have, in certain states.

regarding investments:

To me - my collection is indeed an investment. Not only a financial investment but one in history, and of course, SATISFACTION! I love my toys - SA and FA alike. Like a previous poster - I won't be devastated if MG prices drop to what the were in the good old days - I'll just have one less item to buy on my list :) Granted, I don't have a "real" collection to speak of and my tune might change if I had 100K tied up in MGs. I honestly don't see prices dropping though - much like anything else... we are all conditioned to a particular market and that's the new baseline.

My first NFA purchase was a can - and once it was all approved and I picked it up well, the fever kicked in. You guys know exactly what I am talking about so I won't elaborate - it's just plain old addicting!

Anyway - ordered more fun stuff last night - will post pics as items come in!
