Search this forum for ".22" and read. Lots of great info, a lot to list again here.....

Some kits run out of the box and others will need a little massaging.

I use Winchester Dynapoints in a M16, UZI, and AM180

At the end of the day, everyone will tell you to experiment and that each kit seems to like differnet ammo.

That said, my $0.02 is that it is more fun to shoot than experiment so do yourself a favor and start your experimenting with the ammo that Vector uses, Winchester Super X High-Velocity. (It also happens to run flawlessly for me)

A common problem people experience with the 22 kit is that the ejector in your receiver is too long and extends over the 22 round sitting in the top of the magazine. Either you (or Vector) can file the ejector back a little so the 22 rounds clear the ejector. I had Vector do mine because I didn't want to screw it up but some people here are more competent than I am. The original directions that Vector included with its 22 kits speaks to this issue and how to remedy it. Good luck and happy shooting!

Experiment? Yes. Absolutely. Most Vectors are finicky about .22.

Mine works with Winchester Dynapoints, Remington bulk pack and Remington subsonic. Federals won't work and CCI is so-so. Others have the opposite experience. Go figure. :)

Recommend getting JoeBlack's .22 Uzi mag loader, too. More shooting, less manual loading.

YMMV.

So far mine has functioned with everything I have put through it, including things like Wildcat and PMC. But then my Vector also seems to handle most everything in 9mm too, including hollow points. So maybe I just got a good one.

Someday I will find a 45 conversion and see how that works.....

I cant use the Remington bulk pack, I get a lot of separated cases with that stuff. (AM180 same thing blown cases, M16 is ok with it though (closed bolt..?...)

I get the Federal Wally-World 550 round Value Pack...runs "like crap through a goose"! The more I shoot it, the better it runs. Now I guess I need to get joeblack's magazine loader!:D

I use the WInchester SUper X's without a problem. I decided to try some of the Remington (I believe) sub sonic...at first they wouldn't run and pissed me off...then I found if I only loaded 20rds, in the 28 rd mag, it would run flawlessly...so that is another common problem. It seems that the coper jacketed or such bullets have less of a problem then the lead tips.

Winchester Dynapoints run the best. Remington subsonic seems okay too. The kit hates the Golden Bullet bulk ammo.

Anyone interested should know there is some "de-burring" with the UZI mags for the loader to work correctly. M16/AR15 and AC556/Mini 14 mags are usually good to go.

Loading instructions are in this link here:
