Want to suppress my Sterling?

does anyone have a any ideas,I do know years ago there was someone making an adapter for a suppressor.

By the few accounts of using these that I have seen, they do not work well.

My experience verifies that. It did not fit the crinckel finish gun at all. On the smooth finish gun, it could be adjusted side to side but not up and down.

Sold it. Works for some by luck.

Mine worked perfectly on my xferable mk4…loved it in combo with a dead air ghost 45 can with 9mm end cap…

Mine absolutely has to be Locktited in, otherwise it shoots loose and you will have a baffle strike. Fortunately, I suspected as much beforehand, and simply shot it a bunch with just the thread protector on to see if it stayed put with mere torque and no Locktite. It did not. I took it out on New Year's Eve to rip a few magazines into the dirt. When I loaded back up in the truck, I noticed it was missing, and had to get out the flashlight and go looking for the thing downrange. Never found it that night. Came back in the morning about 7 hours later and found it. No bullet strike through the main hole,...so I was able to re-affix it,...but now with Locktite.

Any other feedback on the stingerworx? Does the problem with them have a workaround?

Not on Stingerworx. However, I think John Andrewski still does the Mark V Conversion, or Integral Suppressor. I have talked Joe Jones of Shaw Armament to do the Mark V version to my Sterling L2A1, but he has not committed to a finish date nor will I force him into one. Joe does great work and he, like others, is worth the wait, if you are patient. If you are not patient, then do not contact him. I suggest getting on the "waiting list" with myself! Hi All. I thought I would jump on here and answer any questions or comments about our sterling machine gun adapter. To address some of the comments in the current thread:

1. 1) It is an accurate statement that the crinkle finish makes it a very tight fit. Possibly enough too remove some of it. I understand that some my find that distasteful, but the is a solid reason for this. Any painted finish is going to have varying levels of consistency. On a 7" suppressor, any non-concentricity over 0.2 degrees will likely result in a baffle strike. Even inconsistent Cerakote can cause that, so we make these to be a tight fit so that the mount indexes legitimately off the metal surfaces.
2. I've spent a fair amount of time trying to figure out a way to fine-tune the alignment of the mount on the bayonet lug, but that results in potential slop that could cause a baffle strike. I believe it would be possible to shim one of the mount pedestals to adjust Left/right alignment. another option would be to shim where the barrel meets the shroud, but one would need a suppressor installed and it would likely be a tedious process. Referring to my earlier statement, i believe one could apply several layers of cerakote on the "low" side of the mount and fine tune your fit. If you have an original, uncut rifle, things should line up pretty well. If you are building one from a kit, it would be advisable to have the mount, suppressor, and alignment rod on-hand to verify alignment of the bore to the mounting surface. All of this said, I built one from a kit from Old Arms of Idaho and it was reassembled without those items on-hand, and everything mounted and shot beautifully.

I am doing another run of these mounts right now, and expect them to be done and available in about 2 weeks (Mid September). I will put them on the website and allow them to be purchased on backorder, if anyone wants to reserve one. I intend to make enough for anyone that would want one, but I'm not sure exactly how many that would be. If you want one, that is probably the best course of action to ensure there are enough made. I will also put an email announcement on our socials about them being released.

I'm disappointed to hear that. It worked like a charm on the several guns we've tried them on. Perhaps I should try to use some Cerakote layers built up to try and fine tune alignment. I'll try that and get back to the group.
