My brother got his first MG approved, it took about 10 months and he said it was worth the wait. Thanks to Gun Stock and Barrel for doing the transfer.

The video above was his first time pulling the trigger on his M11/9 with lage upper. YES, he was shooting at the dirt because the red dot was not sighted in yet.
I edited it down to NOT show his face but I can assure you he a huge smile.

awesome. Always a great experience! I remember my first- picked it up an M-11/9 on a Tuesday, slapped on my Lage upper and went to the range on my lunch break on Wednesday and emptied a few Zmags. Exhilarating experience. I had shot MGs previously but there is nothing like your own!

The first time I shot my first machinegun, it was owned by a friend of mine. Colt roll marked M16. He had bought two from a case of 10. One was roll marked M16 and the other was marked M16A1. What both guns were new he ran 3 mags through the M16 and put it away. He had 6,000 to 7,000 through the A1 and sold it to another friend. I told him that I wanted to buy it. We went shooting again and he pulled out the M16. It still had the factory grease on the fire control. We put around 1,000 rounds through the lower. We both had uppers we could use. About a month later he told me he wanted to sell the M16. I bought it for about half the current market value. If I ever have to go into harm's way, I would want to do so with a Colt M16. I ended up selling it after I transferred a DIAS. I prefer the modularity of the MGI lower and being able switch the DIAS into different lowers. I sold the Colt gun and a LL to buy a Fleming HK sear married to a converted 94. I am glad I bought when I did. I have almost $10,000 less money in the DIAS and the HK sear than the current market value of either.

I had to sell most all of my Title I guns to buy the Colt. If I had it to do over again, I would sell them even quicker to buy a full auto. They are so much fun. I find it funny when a collector tells me he can't afford full auto, yet he's got over 20 handguns and 15 rifles in the safe. YMMV.

I don’t remember the first time shooting my M16 but definitely remember writing that check! But it is my most versatile gun other than the HK sear.

Can’t beat the M16’s and 22lr upper with a 50 round drum.

What range is that you are shooting at? You are not too far from me if you used gun stock and barrel.

I also very distinctly recall driving home with the Mac in my trunk and wondering what everyone else might be driving around with. It alters your state of being!

Back in 1998, then to much inflated prices (past the Fed Reserve) 15 years later.
Colt M16 and STEN MkII back then.

Should’ve kept the Colt. Knew it when I sold it.

Kind torn between a few guns or a large portion towards a Lamborghini. Ha!

My 90 year old grandpas range. He lives next door to me and my mom lives next to him. We are fortunate. I have 11 acres, gramps has 5 and my mom has 12.

Here is a short video of one of my friends shooting his first mg the first time.

He's shot a few of mine and others before. Maybe a year and a half ago he was shooting my m10/45 and asked what they were going for and said he could pull that off. A few months later he said he was ready and I found him that m11/9. He picked it up from tsc machine like 2 months ago(the day before that video was shot). Mike refinished the lower with the black cerakote to make it closer to the lage upper and swapped in some lage parts in the lower. In the first 4 weeks I think he took the gun out 5 times to shoot it.

Now I did make fun of him some after that first shooting because he fired my mp5k next. Seems far happier shooting it.

Now I don't have a video of it but my friend got that lage 5.56 upper in for the m11/9 and he had it at a memorial day machinegun shoot we were at. I was pretty impressed with how well it shot, even though it seemed to be pretty quick vs the hk 33k and my 11.5 inch m16 I had with me.

LOL, I had to think about this for a bit (it was long long ago)...
FS Uzi 2 mag dumps (big grin!) :uzi

First time I wanted a MG was as a kid ~12 when a guy at the range
was doing mag dumps from an AM180...
Funny how that was MG purchase #1

My son's first was an M249 at ~8 (lucky kid, eh?)

I think most of us can remember our first time. If you don't walk away with a smile on your face, something is wrong with you.
