I designed this bolt retainer for my max 10/31 upper several years ago, to keep my bolt from sliding out and landing on the floor. It also works on the Versa 10 upper as well. I will not be printing these for sale, but you are welcome to download and print one off

Ok that's pretty cool.
And here I thought it was a me thing with the bolt sliding out if tipped ass down.
I'll be printing one for my 10/31
Thank you.

It is too bad rubber bands deteriorate over time. They work pretty well in the short term.

I really need to do that for the Max10/15. Last time I accidentally dropped the bolt out of it I sent the bolt through a computer monitor.
I burst out laughing reading this. Sorry. I’ve been fortunate that I moved my foot out of the way as it fell at v=g⋅t

Wasn’t there a printable frame that would go onto a Mac style upper with a front pin to hold the bolt inside the upper? I don’t know the weight of a Versa bolt, but these were a good idea for the tungsten bolts. Especially the full size M11/NINE tungsten bolts. Not only could the bolt coming out of an upper damaging objects that it fell onto, but the bolt itself could be damaged.

Thankfully it was a monitor I had just retired and not the new 180Hz MSI I had just got.

That Max15 spring is no joke! As soon as the assembly hit the floor it unclipped the all hell broke loose!

Accidentally launched the front half of a Steyr M1895 bolt across the house once too. The parrot I had and I just stared across the house at where we heard it hit last for a good minute until one of us made a noise.

I replace the rubber band with a lengthwise Velcro strip, and wrap one or two Velcro bands around the upper to hold the lengthwise strip in place.
MHO, YMMV, etc.

I have a file I'm 95% done with; it's a 1/1 dummy clone of my M10A1 with the Uzi Grip/Mag conversion. Will use as a display lower that I can affix to separate uppers/stocks for better wall display. Will look a lot better than just spare uppers/stocks mounted to the wall. I've printed 3-4 versions and slightly tweaking tolerances here and there and should be done soon (need time and filament LOL).

Currently Uzi grips fit and mount, take down pins fit and remove, uppers fit securely without issue. Last tolerance/s to adjust and retest print are the magwell ID dimensions (mags technically fit but are much tighter than I'd like) and stock mounting holes ID (also technically fits, but is currently a one way street- stock will go in with pressure but wont come out without excessive force). Receiver interior also has a block placed for increased rigidity.

Thank you again suzuki 1750

Printed one for my 10/31 the other day in white.
Just put it on and can't thank you enough, fits great no more dropping the bolt out of the rear when I pick up the upper.
