I just used the MacMachineGuns paddle lever that’s Grease Gun mag only since the VMAC was set up for those mags only as well. Wonder if being only Grease Gun compatible can cause issues.
See how much vertical play you have with the mag inserted. You should only have about 1/32” of play.

I shot my gun today. Didn’t notice that much play. I did get constant malfunctions but they were different this time. I only got one failure to feed and it seems like that might be related to the ejection pattern too because my ejection was really erratic and I primarily got failures to eject. Otherwise feeding seemed fairly smooth. Does that mean the extractor or ejector has issues and I should get Velocity to sort that out? Before, with the Winchester Ranger T, I was still getting one failure to feed every mag. Now I only got one failure to feed for one mag and the others were all failures to eject.

Does this mean it’s salvageable or should I still give up and sell it?

Have you tried some 230gr fmj since you got it back to see how it works?

Oh, not yet because FMJ worked fine even before. But given the primary issue seems to be failures to eject, that seems to no longer be a bullet design issue. Gonna call Velocity tomorrow if I have time to ask about it.

Well, finally got the ejector and extractor installed, and yeah, the gun's much more reliable now. Gunsmith fired 3 mags and had no issue, I fired 3 mags and had one light primer strike (most likely ammo related) and one failure to feed. The other rounds all ran fine with Federal HST hollow points. I did move the mag that had the FTF to my range mag only pile but this was significantly better than what I was getting before which was a malfunction every magazine. This is probably the best I can get and I'll always have my pistol with me so this is good enough. As long as I can get some mags that consistently feed reliably, I'll use those mags as carry mags for a backpack gun. Whew, though, it was quite a trip getting everything to work but at least it finally does work. I don't know exactly what Velocity did to my gun, but while it didn't work with Winchester Ranger T, it did work with Federal HST (which seems to have a rounder profile) and the new extractor and ejector do eject reliably now. Didn't get a single failure to eject. Wonder if anyone else ever had these issues before and if the ejector and extractor are things that need to be regularly replaced. Or if I just happened to get bad parts that were just hidden for so long due to the feeding issues.

Either way, glad it's finally done.
