Hi all,
I was just looking over my V53 pistol and sounded like something loose in it. I stripped it and found this pin inside it and have no idea where it came from. Not sure how to post pics on hnere but I can email pic of part if anyone has suggestions.

thanks

kevin

Sent you an e-mail.
I used to have a V53P, and I'm sure I we can track down where that pin came from.

Hi Mr Maim,
Thanks for the reply. I actually figured out what the problem was. It is the recoild buffer assembly, the end cap came loose. I ordered a new part and waiting for it to come in.
How do you like the Vecotr? I am wondering if I should do it up as a SBR?

Not to speak for Mr Maim, but I also had one of the early V53 P clones. (Serial #1258) I could shoot a 10 inch paper plate at 100 yards all day long with open sights.
It was one of the best I ever owned, and I've had a few.

No sir, I traded it off. I regret ever getting rid of it.
It would have been my number one choice for an SBR though

Is it the buffer in the bolt carrier or the buffer in the stock? Yours may or may not have the bolt carrier buffer.

Where did you order the part from? Just curious.

Love the Vector. Very accurate. Loud as hell! :)

I think it was one of the recoil assembly pins that fell out, but not A 100% for sure?
I sent him a link to RTG and he sent me a reply, that he ordered the part.

Mine is the Vecto pistol so it is not the stock buffer. Got it from RTG Parts

Mr Maim, et al:
I put back together my V53 and I can't seem to retract the bolt all the way. The spring seems much tighter than the original one. Any ideas?

thanks

Kevin,

Can you give a better description of the pin? What diameter, length, hollow or solid? There are only a few pins it could be.

Did you replace the recoil spring assy?

Hi Travarmy,
THe original problem was the recoild assembly, it was the pin/plug at the end of the rod. I ordered a new one from RTG Parts and it came in and I put that back in the weapon. Now I can't retract the bolt all the way.

Kevin,

I know you have done this, but got to ask. Have you measured the recoil rod and made sure it was the same length as the old one?

Question - Did you buy a new recoil rod assembly or just the rivet?
If the complete recoil rod assemble then you should know some of the clones were made with a non standard length rod - thus the excellence recommendation by Travarmy to measure the rod length on both.

If you just purchased the rivet, check to make sure it is dressed done the same as the other rivets ... also try to reverse the rod and make sure the white washer is moving and going into the bolt carrier.

Notes on changing the rivets (might be easier if different length rod) - get new white washers (you old ones might be ok but for the cost new is nice), riviets (for the extra dollar each get the new ones plus a few extras ;-) and re-rivet the old recoil rod assembly (can make a one time anvil and punch out of nails), then dress down down the rivet heads like the others, to allow everything to move ok. Thanks John. I will look at weapon again and carefully inspect. I ordered the whole rod, spring, etc. The spring looks like it is tighter.

Hey Travarmy and others,
Duh, I just looked and the part RTG sent me is about 2 inches longer than my old recoild assembly. I just emailed them about getting the correct part.
