Say... do you guys know if this ammo/ammo type will feed well in the full size UZI SMG: 9mm Luger Federal American Eagle 147 Grain Subsonic Flat-nose FMJ Ammo - AE9FP? Thank you!

I shot 20 rounds of that very same ammo in my Uzi last September when I was doing Rate Of Fire (ROF) measurements. Ten rounds with a silencer (the meter couldn't capture the shots), and so I shot ten rounds sans silencer. ROF was 613 RPM. FWIW, 9mm Luger Federal American Eagle 115 grain ran 579 RPM.

Best of luck.

MHO, YMMV, etc. Be well.

I'd probably stick to ball ammo, flat nose stuff just adds a whole extra variable in there to get caught up on. Are you shooting it suppressed, and also in semi? I'd worry about the gas and back pressure causing loading issues, and especially in full auto.

Personally I avoid the flat point 147 subs for suppresed subguns. Sometimes they feed and sometimes they don't. Stick with round nose .

GeekP & Kramer... thanks. Would be FA, Fudge does not sound hot for flat nose or mixed at best... at SGAmmo the above flat nose was listed, couldn't find round nose 147gr + that's not like insane $1/++ per rd. Yes like to have some for practice and stock FA and supp. So... does anyone care to share a fair current source(s) of 9mm 147gr/gr+ ammo? Also, how does steel case and the UZI get along? Thanks again!

What kind of feed ramp do you have?

The stamped SMG feed ramp on mine would hang up anything that wasn’t RN. I later had a BWE milled feed ramp installed and it does much better with RN and HP ammo.

I don't know just yet... it is a Pre May, S/N# 0699 XX if that is helpful. Soon as I get it, will advise. I hope it will run like a Rolex.

I paid Vector extra money to put the machined feed ramp in my SMG so I could use flat nosed subsonic ammo, and after 20+ years I have never even tried it.

Not exactly. When I custom ordered my Vector from the factory I was unemployed and took me 2 years to pay off the credit card. But hey, you do you. Thanks for the intelligent thoughts.

I avoid flatnose 9mm in subguns period. It can be super finicky.
I've even seen failures that with it that were mag-specific (vs gun specific).

Ok, so it’s a factory IMI SMG, and not a conversion. Based on that I would assume it has the stamped SMG feed ramp, although it’s possible someone could have had a machined ramp installed.

But based on that, I would plan on FP ammo not working. RN profile ammo, on the other hand, should run flawlessly.

My Vector Uzi will not feed Nato-spec 124 FP ammo. Never tried 147s in it but I have zero reason to believe that they would work

Oops sorry, perhaps not the most intelligent thoughts...

Yes, hope it's the milled feed ramp or runs well. Can't wait to have and see. I did order some 147 gr. RN as our friend above advised on. Will share info with all, and appreciate everyone's time, insights and experiences.
