Hey guys,
My first time on board. Nice place you all got here. I got the heads up from some nice folks over on the Gunsnet site. I got a price request for some of you in the know about these Uzi's. I have the opportunity to purchase a NIB , all accessories included, Norinco Uzi Model B for $450.00 cash with NO paperwork involed(not that I care about paperwork) What do you guys think? Should I get it? Is this a fare price? Low price? High ? I know nothing about them. Of course if I get it I will want to convert it, with a folder and PG. Well what say you Uzi Guru's ? Good buy? or not?
Thanks

Thanks for the info and the kind welcome. Iv'e been looking around the place and getting some good info already. The Norinco comes in its original box with two mags. It also comes with four IMI mags. Everybody seems to be sold on the Vector Uzi around here? Well see. I'm still on the fence about this one. I may get it and put it away for a rainy day. who knows?:thinking

Or, if you plan to SBR it, once you've gotten all the paperwork and taxes done, all you'd have to buy is a $30 folding stock, and a set of grips.

Norinco UZI parts

Here is what I decided on to make the conversion.

These are all USA parts.

Barrel - 1
Fixed Stock - 2
Pistol grips - 3
Forearm grips - 4
Recoil spring - 5

This should do it.

I think it would still fall under the 922r regulations and need the required US parts count even if it was an SBR. Going SBR doesn't bypass the normal laws like a machine gun does.

I do not believe this is true. See the link on the BATFE's opinion on NFA weapons and 922r. SBRs are NFA weapons.

Then why is it that you couldn't put a folding or sliding stock or flash hider on and SBR during the AWB? At least that's what I was told.

I read that and it makes sense.

The ATF specifically ruled that an SBR still was a semi automatic and applied the 922v ruling on semi automatic assault weapons.

Machineguns were not semi automatic and were exempt.

Now that 922o is dead, SBRs are just NFA and exempt from 922r. At least that is what I got from Mr. Bardwell's letter.

Remember Mr. Bardwell's letter is dated BEFORE the AWB. Now that the AWB has expired, all things should revert back to the way they were.
