Uzi magwell conversion

Never seen Ruben sell one of these before. The MG inventory must be getting slim because I didn’t think he would sell a modified Mac typically.

Apparently Ruben was not familiar with the Uzi magwell conversion. I find it very interesting that the price tag for the Uzi magwell conversion is $9,500. Yet they have an RPB M10/45 for $8,000 and Sam will do the Uzi magwell conversion for $400. I would think that someone will clue Ruben in as to market values. I don't own a standard M10/9. The magazines are expensive and need a loading tool. My two M10/9s, a RPB and a remanufactured TX gun, I bought already Uzi magwell converted. I think the Uzi magazines are easier to load and so much cheaper than any option of magazines for the factory 9mm configuration. Maybe some day I'll get around to a .45 Uzi upper, but I doubt it. The RPB M10/45 uses Grease Gun mags which is a higher capacity option than Uzi .45 caliber mags.

As I mentioned in the post you responded to and as "sleepy" posted, an Uzi magwell conversion has the possibility of a .45 upper and magazines that fit the Uzi magwell along with the standard 9mm. The Uzi .45 mags are a maximum of 25 rounds for aftermarket and considerably lower capacity for the factory Uzi .45 magazines. A .45 grip can run Grease Gun mags and the M10/9 magazines using a magwell adapter. It is only the M10/9 that is not capable of .45. Unless you were able to modify M10/9 mags for use with .45

Yes .45 is kind of the red headed stepchild in uzi's it appears. Anyway I don't think it makes sense in a M10. On a M11/9, sure, but on a M10 you are missing out on the fabulous Mr. Greasgun mag.

If you can find a single feed M 10 bolt...the Zytels will work..

Swd took Texas macs and put m11/nine magwells on them.

I have a M10/9MM double feed. The Uzi magwell made a lot of sense to me and I got it done.

As it is, the M10/9mm double feed magazines are north of $100 for originals and are $60 for reproductions. If you can find them.

And the M10/9mm magwell has no option for .45ACP.

With the conversion, I have a ton of 32, 25, and 20 round magazines for my MAC. I can get a .45 ACP upper and use the Promag .45 Uzi magazines for a quick conversion if I choose.

I'm not saying that I'd choose to do the conversion on a M10/45, but the M10/9mm was meant for this conversion.

The M10/9 was developed in the 70s with Walther mags being the second option. To my knowledge Ingram was not doing any molding of magazines and preferred to use proven steel mags.


SWD did NOT come up with the M10/9 as those were made long before the creation of SWD.

Guys: swd bought Texas macs or flats out of bankruptcy or however, and put the m11/9 magwell on them that accept zytels.

That’s why an m10/9 might use a zytel.

The dual mag catch on the back of the mags despite using the same magwell is because the m10 barrel centerline is slightly higher than the m11/9 - that’s a guess but logical - so that the mag sits higher in the m10/9.

A zytels are for M11a1's ( large magwell) and M11/9's

B zytels are for m11/9 and Mac 10 with single feed bolt ( got one)

c zytels fit all 3...m11a1(large magwell) ,m11/9 , mac 10 single feed bolt

Given the 380 mags were "Branded"....they were basicly the same or were the feed lips worked over...I forget.
