I was watching a movie with my 12 year old daughter tonight and it had an uzi that was dropped that went full auto while it was banging down the steps.

Pretty cool to see that gun still being used in a movie in 2021.

Was this the scene from the movie?

It so the movie is called True Lies, and it’s not an Uzi, it’s a MAC 10

Sounds like the scene in True Lies where Jamie Lee Curtis is firing her MAC 10 for the first time, drops it, and as it hits each stair tread sends out a burst that manages to take out a few bad guys each time. Causes them to scatter but the "hand of Allah guiding the bullets" still manages to take a dozen or so out before it hits the bottom and fires it's last round!

Inspired, no doubt, by the apocryphal story of the Secret Service Agent dropping his Uzi and thereby blasting up the interior of Air Force One and nearly killing then President Reagan. Or whatever version one has read/heard.

Only possible if the grip safety is taped down. Supposedly that was what made the practice verboten.
