Tetralube works good on the bolt surface, keps the receiver from getting worn out. Also does not dissipate like conventional oil.

I clean with CLP first, then put tetra grease on all the contact points on the bolt, 2 lines on the receiver channel and the 2 lines on the top cover. Never anything in the lower. I like the grease because it stays on the point of contact and doesn't run. The wear spots on the UZI are very specific. If you oil the whole inside it will just make dirt, carbon, and brass fragments stick to everything.

If I'm shooting in the cold, I go light on the grease because it makes the bolt bind and do funny things.

I highly recommend using grease.

Break-Free CLP for general cleaning/lubing - PARR All-Weather Weapons Lube or Super Lube for receiver contact points.

Hey peoples,

I Was just wondering. What do all you guys use to keep your uzi's well oiled and lubed?

Thanks.

I use CLP. Since you're in Vegas, can I assume you'll be at the shoot in March?

I have been playing with Miltec oil and grease and Wilson's Ultra lube. I have pretty well settled on grease for the bottom of the bolt particularly. Seems to help reduce where, but I'll wait a few more thousand rounds before making a definite conclusion!!

I use FP-10 for both cleaning and lubing the gun. You can wipe it off until it looks dry, and it still lubes like crazy. I don't like CLP because you have to keep shaking the bottle to keep the teflon in suspension. I use SL-10 spray inside my suppressor. It seems to keep the crud from getting hard and baked on. Both are from Muscle Products Corp. (MPC). They have some interesting comparision pix on their web site from salt spray tests (guess who wins!)

FP-10

I don't have my UZI yet, but for my other guns, I use FP-10 for cleaning and lubing. MPC makes some other good products. I shoot with George Fennell, MPC's President and Technical Director. He has a booth at Knob Creek and usually gives away free FP-10 samples in "ketchup pack" envelopes.

George is a good guy and his products are top-notch by me.

MPC also makes a wet can suppressor grease (PL-10) with a special applicator kit.

I've been using WD40 to rinse out / degrease the receiver, then I wipe dry, and finally Break Free Lube it.

Lube

I just received a free sample of some cleaner & lube from Slip 2000. The stuff is synthetic, bio-degradable and non-toxic which helps when it's time to clean up the mess. As far as it's lubing qualities, I've yet to take the gun to the range since I cleaned & lubed it just a few days ago. I know the cleaner is pretty bad ass though.

The one thing I noticed is that the synthetic lube is not a grease - it's more of an oil. I've always used grease for my bolt, so it will be interesting to see if the synthetics hold up like a true grease product.

From the recommendation of this post I bought some Break Free CLP and Tetra Grease. The Break Free cleaned the junk very nice and the Tetra really made everything move smoothly.

I think most of the major chain stores, at least in the Pacific NW, carry Tetra. I have seen it at Bi-Mart, and I think maybe K-Mart in addition to Wally World.
