I'm currently trying to finish up an Uzi build with a Mckay Receiver, bolt, and surplus Israeli Uzi parts kit. Currently, everything functions properly with the magazine out of the gun. Rack, striker drop, grip safety, etc. However, once I put the magazine into the gun, I can't fully cycle the bolt to pick up a new round. It just gets stuck when trying to manually open the bolt. I know that top cover gap is an issue, but before I start bending things, I wanted to cover my grounds. The magazine I'm using an IWI Pro Magazine so I'm not sure if that's causing an issue. :bang

I had a feeling that could be a potential issue. Do I adjust the tab on the magazine catch or do I adjust the notch on the magazine?

Tagged. I had not considered that as an issue, I thought McKay where GTG.
Is this an issue with the receiver or the height of the grip mounting lug ?

DO NOT adjust the magazine. Adjust the tab on the grip. Take the tab out of the grip. Use two pliers. It doesn’t take much adjustment.

The height of the mag has nothing to do with the McKay receiver. If there is a mag height issue it is normally due to the mag catch. Small adjustments are easy you can always trace the shape with a pencil on paper to have a reference to go back to.
