Is The .45ACP UZI the same thing as a 9mm UZI with the .45ACP conversion kit and vice versa?

Are you asking if a 9mm conversion kit will go into a .45acp Uzi?

I would think Yes, but all my guns are Vectors. I don't know for sure about other manufacturers guns.

Yes, they are essentially the same. IMI did sell semi UZI's in .45 ACP and .41 AE and the receivers were stamped with those calibers, but that's the only difference. Swapping the parts gives you the same result.

i bought a model 45 uzi. i looked high and low for a 45 to 9mm conversion kit and can't find one. i don't think they exist at all. i did, however, just buy all the parts seperate and they fit right in, no problemo.
iirc, uzi imported about 70,000 9mm guns and only about 10,000 45's, so you can see that it would be worth it to market a 9mm to 45, but not as attractive to offer a 45 to 9.
as always, if what i'm spoutin' off is wrong, please correct me so i'll know better.

and i finally went pending, woo hoo!!!

It might also help to specify if your gun

is a semi auto or a full auto submachine gun.

When asking for info, you need to give a bit more for people to go on if you expect good information in return.

From the above posts, I now suspect that your gun is a semi auto. If it were a full auto, you could buy a bolt and barrel and 9mm mags and your done.

FA or SA doesn't matter a lot. The only difference that makes, is the type of barrel. Of course the FA barrel was made to fit the FA gun only and an SA barrel will fit both, but may be loose in an SMG. Also the bolts are different and again, the FA bolt was made to fit the FA gun only but the SA bolt can be used in both. Just remember if trying to use the SA bolt in an SMG, you'll need to swap a few parts as well such as the buffer and top cover.

Guns n Planes, your numbers are about right. But also remember that there were US made UZIs and US converted UZIs, so there's no telling what really exists today as ATF wont divulge those numbers. Karl.

Exactly, to go from 45 to 9mm, all you need is a 9mm bolt, 9mm barrel, 9mm magazine.

CDNN has the kits to go from 9mm to .45 ACP (I bought one from them) but not the other way around.

If I am not mistaken as far as the Uzi pistol is concerned...the .45 acp version of the pistol (atleast mine did) came with an indent to the front of the trigger guard. Sort of a place for the finger forward sort of hold yet different from the 9mm pistol versions I have seen. This difference makes no change in functionality but I think may be unique to the 45 acp version.
