The wal-mart folks down here in the Miami/ Hollywood area are incompetent and when ammos is in stock they are unable to find the keys to the various cabinets if you can find someone to help at all. I ordered some from bass pro shops online after stymie posted and I got an email saying it will be delayed for an unknown amount of time.
I had to buy 500 rnds from the local Bass pro shop for $11.95 on my way up the Port Malabar. I don't suppose anyone has a cousin or uncle working at the Winchester ammo plant with a 25% off emoployee card
Wal-Mart $9.96 a box. I get a 10% discount cause my wife works
at Wal-Mart. I order the stuff by the cases and they contact me when it arrives. I can get 9mm Winchester any cheaper any where else. I also have a American 180 in transfer and Wal-Mart also carries the Federal 22 cal. in the red box .97 cents a box and with my 10% discount. I can get 5000rds for $100 dlls.
If you don't mind Russian ammo, here's a killer deal -- $60 for a case of 800 rounds of Barnaul at http://www.ammunitionstore.com
look under specials. I had 2400 round of this stuff delivered to my door for $206. That's the equivalent of $8.58 per 100-round box, without the sales tax or having to endure Wal Mart (hey, time is worth money). I'm sorry, but I hate that place. I'd do almost anything not to support them.
I've shot it out of my uzi and mac and it runs 100%. Some folks talk bad about russian ammo, but its always worked great for me.
Here in Austin Academy has Winchester Q4172 (115 gr FMJ) on sale for $4.86 a box of fifty. Works out to $10.52/100 with tax. Can't figure why I just bought 1000 rounds. Gotta go back tomorrow!
Ammo arrived today from bass pro. The delivery guy was bitching and moaning about the weight. Odd thing is the box didn't say ammo on the outside which it usually does when I order AK ammo from cabelas. I thought there was some law about having to mark ammo as ammo.
Anyway. Stymie thanks for the heads up you saved me $20+
