TX22 FRTs

Funny. They say the GAU-8A has a variable ROF of 3900 RPM, 4000' -12000' effective range. That's crazy. It holds 1150 rds of 30mmx 173 at a cost of $25 -$35 a round. I don't think I make enough to even fire one drum of ammo. I don't think I dislike someone enough to use it... except watermellons. They're evil and need to xsplode.

Almost the price of a new TX22

Everytime I get a email of a so called sale they are 459-499 each now.
Wonder at more then double the price if they are selling any.

I hear them at my range all the time. Even at $600 for the gun and FRT it's a cheap way to have a lot of fun compared to the cost of an MG.

I have to take this opportunity to put out another shout out for Matt's ODD Mfg FRT and slide weight. It just runs and runs and with the weight it slows it down and allows the use of my light weight and my heavy weight suppressors. Get them, you won't be disappointed. I mean it.

I never thought I would get to own a high capacity 22LR machine pistol in my life. Shooting fast and quiet is as fun as I hoped it would be.

I get it Skoda but if I remember right I paid 169 at PSA for my TX22 before the craze hit and the optioned dot site guns were like 299-359.
I also understand they will list the price at whatever the market will pay.
It's more just a WOW sticker price shock when they send a Email claiming " sale " for almost double the price.
I guess for once in my life I got in on the ground floor as they say.

Yes, it's just basic supply and demand economics at play. If/when FRTs ever go away or the market is saturated the price will drop to 'normal'.

The reason they can sell them at the high prices is that FRTs have upped the demand so much. No doubt nearly every day someone that has one lets their friend shoot it and before the end of the day the friend is online looking for a TX22, FRT, and magazines.

Right about a year ago I got mine for $250 and it came with a bunch of extra magazines. Then in September I got the TORO model for the same price but with just two mags. Soon after that you could hardly find them.

A couple of years ago a friend got a Gen 1 TX22 and he was jealous because at the same time I got a SIG P322 and he liked mine better. Now I'm jealous of him because his heavy slide Gen 1 runs with a suppressor just fine with no extra parts or playing around.

You never know what will come out next in the gun world. Interesting times.

I still see them for $250 at gun/pawn stores that don't advertise on the web. Just be careful of the used market. Thousands of TX22s were damaged by the first year of the bad Brrt v4 FRTs.

Has anyone had a chance to run the 34rd promags? I got two of them and they both consistently produce stoppages every few rounds. My tx22 runs 100% with factory mags. The majority of reviews say these mags are reliable but that's not what I'm experiencing. I don't know if I got a pair of bad ones or if it's another issue. I ran them as-is, then I tried some dry lube, and when that didn't work I cleaned them and used some silicone lube. Still jamming. I may end up sending them back.

I've been testing 3 of them. 2 are doing OK, 1 or 2 stoppages per mag but with 4 dumps and no stoppages, the 3rd is awful. 4-6 stoppages.

Just forgot since there is so much info here on the TX22
Kinda the same with the frt thread in the reviews sub forum so much info it's hard to remember or keep track.
Not to mention I haven't done any shooting since Feb.

I have been testing just one 34 rnd mag out of six that I bought. I’ve shot seven full mags and haven’t had any stoppages at all and the spring is able to keep up with the rof. If I have any problems as described by others here I plan to use a spray-on dry lube on the plastic parts before replacing any followers.
