I just got off the phone with a couple pistol sight makers and they seem interested in a 1.75 oz steel rear dove tail sight to slow down the TX22. Ameriglo seemed very interested.

Yup Arch that is the one I got but no case.
I ordered the compact at the time as it was on sale for 249 with case, 5 mags, and optics cut but instead got the one in your link less case and optics cut.
They either made a honest mistake or fan out and said screw it it's root and he won't care anyways :)

I don't even care these things are cheap enough on sale I'll probably buy a 2nd one of what ever gets offered for 250 and another frt from Strobro when his come in for sale.

Kinda wish wish I had saw the one Alaska shooter listed it was 50 bux more with optic but I'd already ordered by then.

Root sent me a new 3D printed box so this time I hot glued a solid lead weight inside it permanently. I also drilled a hole through it from the back to make sure I could insert a tool to remove it. It also required a trim at the bottom, like the OEM plate to for slide disassembly while the weight box is attached.

Tests for 3-10 rd average with the 1.75oz back plate box weight:

CCI Subs 40 gr- 1217 RPM
CCI MM 40 gr- 1195 RPM

I definitely think the solution for suppressors use with FRTs and a non-optic cut slide (iron sights) is a long, 1.75 oz steel back plate. I hope the po po does not think it's a switch.

Now someone needs to make a steel striker assembly to keep the FRT from wearing it out.

Too pricey and it's made from aluminum. I think the stainless steel FRT will wear it out. They only need to make the right side. This may be a job for MIMs parts.

Just when they do that, we need a 3 position.

I'll have to add more weight and see if I can get closer to your numbers Strobro.
I do plan on making brass or steel weights this winter.

I have the new TX22 FRTs but they are the same size as last time, too small. The printed measurements are correct. The .step file is incorrect. I asked them to make the new parts to the scale of the printed measurements but the did not. Money and time down the drain. At some point I will try to get a better file made.

Until then here's other companies selling them for $45.

I tested the 1.75 oz box again today suppresses and not. The numbers are different than when the weight was on on top of the slide. Sometimes by more than 100 RPM. The average for 1.75 oz unsuppressed HV was 1415 RPM but Subs were unreliable.

It looks like the 1.5 oz numbers are the sweet spot for HV and subs unsuppressed when using back of the slide weight. I'm going to need to verify all of this again.

1.5 oz weight on top, 1.5 oz weight on the back, 1.75 oz weight on top, 1.75 oz weight on the back, suppressed, unsuppressed, subsonic ammo, HV ammo. 3-10 rds averages for each. This hurts my brain.

I do know that the weight on the back looks better and would be easier to change around. I'm glad root sent 2 boxes. I guess the ideal weight is one that all configurations work.

You sir are way more of a MAD SCIENTIST then me.
You're doing math & different loads.

I'm like welp this works I'm done.
Next project.
And I am off to the next project already started gathering parts for it.

I am however very interested in your findings.

The links you listed are very unreliable FRTs accourding to the link I sent you. Lots of those guys cheaped out and are RHheeeeeing they can't get reliability.
Some, no reset after the 1st shot, some a very short string and no reset.
If you compare the links above to the ty22 frt you will see they all have a different profile.
The ty22 nailed it with the geometry it seems.

Plug & play seems to be the 125.00 ty22 this thread is about.

I'd like to see a 3 position, but I think since this replaces the disco to kick the trigger forward for fast semi also the whole trigger assemble would need a rework to get safe, semi, fast semi.
Unless someone could come up with a arm to make the adjustment.
Something like the M2 carbine with the selecfor and the 9 spring?
Or possible maybe a progressive trigger in reverse?
Light pull gets fast semi, hard pull gets semi.
Just thinking out loud how it might be achived with minimal work to the tx22 pistol it's self.

This is the wear from about 1K rounds with the FRT, That corner on the plastic striker housing should be square, like the other side of the striker block.

Can you somehow use the lightening holes in the slide to attach some weight? Run a few small screws and washers from the inside to hold a weight with nuts on the outside? Not as a permanent solution but for testing. Just brain farting here.

Yes. This is how I did my successful proof of concept to run suppressed with weight

It still functional with HV but not reliable with subs.

I just purchased a metal reinforced insert on ebay. I'll let you know how it works out.

The TX ate another 700 rounds today. The gun has not been cleaned yet and nothing broken or out of shape. I am impressed how well it's holing up for what it is. I had expected the gun to grenade in my hand by now but the timing is still good

I shot 500 rounds this morning, unsuppressed, no weights. CCI MM and Subs worked perfectly.

The McFadden Lightning Loader seems to be the thing that people want to play with more than the pistol. I think McFadden gets an order every time people see me loading mags with it. Mak91 made a much stronger TX22 adapter than McFadden and I really like it.

I just checked out the plastic striker housing. There does not appear to have more wear. I have a metal reinforced one coming but i just want to take the OEM to the point were it fails. I'm going to need more ammo. It really is a fun little toy.
