Thinking of selling my M11/smg.

The interesting thing is going to be if SCOTUS is serious about the whole “strict scrutiny” thing and winds up applying it to the NFA, as at least one challenge is in the pipeline. Will I be bummed that my MAC is suddenly worth the $800 it always should have been? I doubt it. I’ll be too busy lining all my AR’s up at the drill press.

If the '86 ban is done away with, MACs will be going for like $3-$400. Lets face it, if it weren't for the rareness due to the Hughes Amendment, stock MACs would be on par with a High Point.

All that being said, unless I was in real financial trouble, I'd never sale one of my machine guns. I don't put too much stock in the ban being lifted, and if nothing else they are a good investment. My kids will probably end up with them. I hope they keep them, but they will be theirs to do with what they wish.

Semi m11/9s are selling typically more than $800 these days.

I’d take an M11/9 SMG any day over a High point.

That is because they are old and somewhat collectable. If it were legal, there is a good chance somebody would start building new full-auto MACs, they would be on par price wise with a current production economy handgun. Personally, I would never care to own a semi-auto MAC at any price, and if you took the Lage uppers out of the equation, I probably wouldn't own a FA one if the Hughes Amendment was overturned, with the influx of a vast variety of other subguns that would surely hit the market.

You could be right about the pre '86 guns though. They would likely retain some collector value. I just remember when transferable guns were selling way less than $800.

I would happily give up the $15K I have in my M11A1 and accessories to have the NFA overturned. I would not buy new guns. I would change the ones I have to select fire and buy more reloading components.

From what I’ve seen recently, people are talking about the NFA getting over turned (not FOPA). I don’t think there’s a shot in hell of that happening.

Let’s say they do, that means the old guns would transfer tax free but there still would not be anymore news transferables being made due to FOPA.

Unless there’s cases regarding FOPA that I haven’t seen. I don’t see either happening. If it did, it would be a good day.

Congress and stage legislatures would be on top of that so fast. I'd be mailing in paperwork day 1 though for some stripped ar-15 lowers

I’ve seen a lot of videos about the Nfa getting overturned.
Does anyone actually think there’s a chance?

I just laugh at the idea. Don’t get me wrong, I wish it would happen but think I’ve got a better chance at winning the lottery.

Depends on whether it makes it in front of the court. Under the standard set by Bruen, it is flatly unconstitutional, and the present makeup of the court would likely find it so, 5-4, with Roberts hedging out like the little ***** he is. Whether a case actually gets there and they decide to hear it, pretty much depends IMO on whether they feel like coasting on the waves they’ve made this year or they’re enjoying the salt and want to make more tears. -shrug-

As I understand it, (IANAL), the Hughes Amendment to FOPA essentially says no new full-autos can be registered under the NFA. If full-autos suddenly don’t NEED to be registered, because NFA is overturned, Hughes Amendment becomes irrelevant.

Hope you right but I don’t think it’ll ever happen.
The way everything’s going, they will be confiscated before they’ll ever allow new MG’s.

I would venture to say that most the media and even most politicians don’t think MG’s are even legal to own.

If the OP wants to sell his MG’s, it’s likely a good time as any.
