I have been away from Uzi Talk for too long it seems. I just bought a new Mini Uzi yesterday and finding this thread is perfect. I look forward to reading about the history and seeing the listing of UZI accessories that I understand are part of the book.

Congratulations to Rover Dave and all of us UZI nerds who will now have an UZI reference book of our own.

I received my book a few weeks ago. Very nicely done.

So much information. It's a keeper, for sure.

Thank you for providing this book for us. I highly recommend it.

Yes indeed, Rover Dave did a great job on this book. Where else can you find so much information and detailed photos of our favorite gun!! Well worth every penny! I know so much more about the UZI than I ever thought there was in it's long history! A must for any UZI enthusiast!!

I got my copy today and with a quick pass through it looks promising. I do, however, note a couple of typos on the first pages of the introduction. In several places the author of the introduction has used the word “lead” when he should have used “led.” It’s definitely distracting trying to read through the misspellings, but I’m hopeful it’s a fluke. :)

You should seriously consider editing your post.

I’m sorry but that’s just uncalled for. And terribly bad manners.

How is it bad manners? I simply pointed out that there were some typos. My own editor has caught typos in my columns, and I've been involved in proofing others' works. It was intended as constructive criticism, not as a put-down. I think any author would like to know of errata in their work so that perhaps they can be corrected in a subsequent edition.

Two things: any book like this is a huge amount of work, a major accomplishment and great resource to anyone interested in Uzis. It is a wonderful piece of work and we are lucky to have it. Let's appreciate it and not make our comments so nitpicky critical. It's absurd I even have to explain this.

Secondly, why not just send a private email to the author and owner of this site with your critique? Why post it in such a public way? That's just disrespectful, crass and poor judgement.

Like I said, bad manners. There is a better way to contribute than publicly criticizing it.

First, I didn’t know the author is the site owner until reading your post. But the truth is the truth. Ignoring doesn’t make it go away. And again: I’m not knocking his efforts, nor negating it in any way. Second, wouldn’t it be best to see if the author is offended before you decide to take offense by proxy? If he’s offended by my comment I’m sure he’ll tell him.

Unfortunately a small handful of errors escaped detection by me and all of the editors that the publisher had on the project. There's an email address in the book and a request to notify me of any errors found. If you take the time to do that, they'll be corrected in the second printing. Then you'll have one of the "first printing" copies that will be more highly sought after when the book is no longer in print.

Heh. Thanks Dave. I’ll get an email out to you if I spot any more. I do appreciate your efforts in writing the book. I know it’s no small task to undertake something like, particularly to produce such a definitive work. Many thanks for your efforts!

The only error would be not to order a signed copy while they’re available.
