From the first Thread

“I will add that one of the things I am doing to avoid MG-status is making the upper a open bolt design, but only when the lower is attached.
Without a M10 lower attached, the upper will not, under any circumstances, fire a round.
Attaching anything else to the upper, other than a M10 lower, will only result in the upper jamming or feeding incorrectly.
So, I guess you can call it a closed-bolt, open bolt system? =)“

I assume this is still the case?

Yes.
There are parts that I make that must be used in the lower for the upper to fire a cartridge.
These parts have zero effect on the use of any other upper, whether factory mac uppers or any of the aftermarket uppers I've seen.

It requires the shooter to pull the trigger in order for the cartridge to fire. The upper cannot runaway or accidently fire unless the trigger is intentionally pulled.

Thank you.

I appreciate the fact that you’ll provide use with the 3D files and I’m sure there’s others that’ll feel the same.

I'm glad to accommodate the market in that regard. I'd like to see what others can develop.

M11/9- MP7 upper eh? That sounds intriguing

Yup. It is basically a delayed blowback 9mm upper with a clamshell dress up kit that makes your M11/9 into a MP7.
I hope to eventually make a 4.6 or 5.7 upper for it, but the mac magwell will be the limiting factor.
I'm pretty happy with the design so far.

Am I on the waiver list? I'd be happy for one with the AK adapter or AR adapter and3D models!

I try not to disclose waitlist info on public forums.

Focus is given to the AR, AK47, and AK74 adapters, in that order.
After that, 9mm Glock, scorpion evo, and a few others that were apparently very popular.

Yes! Glad the AK74 is on the short list. I'll probably buy those three with my upper :)

Understandable. I just don't remember what we had talked about last if I was on the notrnal or waiver list.

Please feel free to PM about it if you have time and the desire to do so. I. Very interested in the upper and willing to make/print more magwell adapters as necessary. AR and either 74 or 47 magwell would work for me! If you use standard AR barrels 7.62x39 and 5.45 will work in the AR magwell. If I can get my hands on a few magwells to cover my interests, mostly ruskie cartridges, I'd be more than thrilled!

I'm excited about the 74 stuff too though with current ruskie ammo stuff I am hesitant to use up my 5.45.

Super excited to see things moving forward!

Maybe 22TCM instead of 5.7. It's like a 5.7, but less pointy, and fits in a 9mm mag.

Is there any possibility of a 22LR kit for the M11a1?

Is there a complete list of all the potential combinations that are being imagined?

22tcm has been tried and had high recoil. Not that it doesn't work, I imagine it could be possible with any of the three, and agree that 22tcm 9R would be the easiest to set up. But TBTH, do you really want an upper that shoots one of those 3 calibers? The more I thought about it, I realized I liked the idea a lot, but I can't shoot my steel with it, I can't shoot a match with it, and it's really only for scenarios where you anticipate engaging armored targets, which assuming you'd use a transferable for home defense (don't) they likelihood of having armored assailants is like next to zero. So seeing as how I'm not planning an ambush on the local PD, I figured it's kind of just a show off gun.

Not throwing shade on the idea because I love the idea of it existing, and I want somebody to build one for sure, just to thumb our noses at the other transferable guys, but I don't want all my friends always wanting to shoot that upper with the $1.25 rounds

You know what. After typing out this whole screed of why you don't need one, I realize I really want one. This is a sickness!

Ammo cost is certainly a consideration. I plan on doing a 5.7 and a 458 socom conversion for an ultimac, but ammo prices, availability, and availability of primers has put that on hold for awhile.

Super excited about the 3d printed parts idea. Just another reason why your upper is the one I'm most excited for.

I have turned over the solid models to another UT member who has the means to mass produce uppers.
I am waiting on pricing from them.

I have two dozen uppers machined and ready for coating.

Magwell solid models (IGES and STP) will be available on my website.

So should the first batch be done in the next few months?

I don't believe he's posted it yet. He's been busy with life and getting bids from shops etc. Hopefully he'll announce when it's ready, not sure how that will work out for those that are on the waitlist, but we just have to be patient. :) Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you all are able to spend a great day with friends and family and hold a glass up for those we lost this year.
