A Rino Replacement Parts product. $35 new. AKA, "the motorcycle foot peg VFG". IIRC, not too well received as the retention thumb screw has a tendency to work loose during firing.

MHO, YMMV, etc.

It would be nice if they had a spring-loaded quick detach button like B&T or some other mfgs

It doesn't fold, but years ago I bought a junky Uzi search light and took off the rusted up light fixture (and gave it to a guy I worked with for spare parts) leaving the VFG battery case as a QD VFG. IIRC, the search light was about $50 (battery not included). I've considered sawing off the battery case and fastening a rail there so I could use any rail mounted VFG, including a folding one, but I'm not that interested.

You could always combine a bayo lug rail:

with a folding grip:
I extremely dislike the fact that they tell you to dimple your bayo lug/screw it in hard for the set screw mount so I didn't want to do that, and I really don't want a VFG unless it matches the classic look of my Uzi. I despise the anachronistic look of a 1950's SMG that's been tacticooled out.

The bayonet system attaches perfectly with the spring detent that freely pushes in and automatically locks when it's on. Just flip that bayonet 90 degrees and mold some plastic and it is a perfect system.

I agree on the tacticool factor. The original Uzi fore grips are good enough for me. Though I bet the bayo rail could be modified to be a push button quick disconnect if you have a shop and some imagination.

Yes, I have a lot of ideas for products and would love to mill my own metal but I don't have a shop. The Uzi bayonet is so simple and perfect. It's just a spring loaded latch that fits like a glove on the lug. Just have the same attachment mechanism and have a metal bar that goes down about 3 inches, then just drill 2 holes on the top and bottom of each side and you could screw in some plastic grips like the oem uzi handguards. The folding mechanism would be a bonus, but as long as it looks like the motorcycle peg grip I wouldn't mind keeping it on, plus it reverts to original in two seconds with the quick detach button.

I've got one on my Mini as well. I have not had any issues with it coming off as apparently others report. Maybe I've been lucky? I did put mine in the mill and milled a wide slot in the rubber down to the inner steel rod. Now it will fold up further into the trigger guard and actually lock up.
I remember the ads in Shotgun News back in the 80's. Looked kinda funky. I wasn't into Uzi back then, I was 101% into anything Ingram so I never got one. I bought mine from a fellow member here about ten years ago. It wasn't cheap, maybe $100 or so, but he didn't really want to sell it so I was appreciative. It's strictly a cool retro novelty. Maybe someone will take the "bayonet" idea and run with it? Couldn't be that complicated, and it could go on Mini and Micro models with a lug.
