***Sorry, I should have made clear I was talking about S&W76/MK760 Subcal Barrels. I'm aware that the Swedish K barrels are good.

Has anyone ever gotten a barrel that works?

I've got tons of this ammo and would love to use it, but am still waiting for my barrel back. This Luis Morales/Rusty Hogan group buy has not been good for me. Emails and calls seem to go unreturned.

Anyone have another option?

Jake

I have a Morales/Hogan barrel for my K and it has been working just fine, have put a few thousand rounds through it. The first barrel from them had problems with durability, the second one is OK!

My buddy has a original Swedish K subcal barrel and the accuracy is comparable between the two.

I was hoping they would produce an Uzi version, I would buy it in a flash.

The best is an original Swedish K practice barrel. I got one years ago and saw a bunch at KCR so they're out there.

Since you are in SE Michigan, I can let you try my slow fire adapter. It
works with my subcal barrel.

Jake:

I am beginning to think you and I (and maybe a few others) have been SCREWED by Luis concerning the 76/760 subcal barrels. We both sit here without a barrel (you) or $175 refund (me).

I ask that if any of the members of this board know Luis personally, to PLEASE talk to Luis about his 76/760 subcal barrel sales. Please report what you find out here.........

From what I have heard in the past, Luis is a "stand up guy", but his lack of communication on this subject is hurting his reputation. Luis is on my shit list right now. However, I would enjoy removing him from that list...........

All is not lost, even for S&W M76 owners ;) if they want to shoot the Swedish training ammo. Why not get an original Swedish training barrel and modify it to fit the 76? All that's needed is to cut the flange off the original barrel and fit a bushing that'll fit the 76 trunnion. Should be less than 30 minutes of work on a lathe. Now you'll have a high quality barrel that you know will work 100%. I used to make M16 9mm barrels like this before cheap off the shelf barrels were available.

Well there are a few problems with that. First, Swedish barrels are hard to come by. Second, the Swedish Bolts are heavier so they would do the same thing that these do. Third, we already bought barrels and were told that they had test fired thousands of rounds through them with no problems. Most of us bought barrels because we don't have the capacity to machine our own.

Our problem is this:
We bought barrels from a source that said these were tested and worked fine. We then got no answer for 9 months and then get the barrels from a third party. We tried the barrels and they are dangerous to use. The person that guaranteed them does not respond to any correspondence. Many of us also bought a lot of this ammo that is now useless for those of us with barrels. I am lucky that I have a slowfire kit that allows me to shoot it with no trouble. The rate of fire is about the same as 115 grain cheap 9mm ammo. But I did not buy the barrel with the intention of needing the slowfire conversion to make it work.

Vegas SMG, et al,

I've thought of that and was trying a final call to Luis and Mr. Hogan. If they don't respond, I plan to post on subguns' board of inquiry and will see what happens. I wanted to know if any of us in the group buy actually got functioning subcal barrels prior to my posting on the BOI.

I'll post a link here when I post on subguns.

Thanks,

Jake

Please note the following BOI rules. If your barrel deal didn't happen there, you can't take it to the Board Of Inquiry. I called Luis and asked questions about barrels for my Uzi and M16/9 as a result of his advertisements there. You can take it to the NFA discussion board and ask about other's experiences with this particular subcal barrel and any subsequent problems with they may have had with this product and the manufacturer.

Good luck!

BOI RULES:

Please note: These are the Rules for posting on the Subguns.Com "Board of Inquiry". By posting on the Subguns.Com "Board of Inquiry" you agree to follow these posting rules.

These rules are necessary to keep the Board of Inquiry fully open and honest to all users. No tolerance will be shown for those who try to abuse this board in any way, and and may result in a loss of posting privileges on the entire Subguns.Com website.

1. The Subguns.com Board of Inquiry is for posting business references on sellers and buyers doing business on Subguns.com and making nominations to the Recommended Dealers List found at http://www.subguns.com/c2c3/c2c3.htm
If the intended post is for people buying or selling on any OTHER site, please post a reference check on that particular site. All posts not pertaining to Subguns.com specific business will be deleted without comment.

We will not tolerate problems from other sites being dragged here.

2. The Board of Inquiry is also a place to give notice of good/bad business transactions taking place on Subguns.Com. If you are considering a transaction with someone on Subguns.Com you don't know, you can post here with a reference request and hopefully others with past experiences can give you a recommendation.

Again, if the transaction isn't happening or didn't happen here, it does not belong here. It belongs where it happened, keep it off this board.

3. A VALID EMAIL is REQUIRED TO POST ON THIS BOARD. PERIOD.

Much attention from Subguns.Com Staff is given to making certain that persons posting good/bad experiences about businesses/individuals post with their real names, and/or recognizable handles, real e-mails, and that they post a fair recount of the transaction.
The mentioned party then has a chance to respond knowing exactly who they are talking to and perhaps work towards agreement with the poster.
All posts without a valid e-mail will be deleted without comment. If you are responding to a post that has no e-mail in it, your followup post will also be deleted as well so that it is not orphaned on the board without context to a parent message.
If you are posting with an e-mail address from a Hotmail or Yahoo type e-mail service, or if there are any questions about your post on the Board of Inquiry, you will probably get an e-mail to verify your address and name.
Failure to respond to such emails, or discovery of a false email will result in your post being deleted, and a possible loss of posting privileges on the entire Subguns.Com site.

4. ALL OTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT GUNS, ACCESSORIES, PARTS, CONTACT INFO REQUESTS, AND GENERAL INFORMATION POSTS should be posted on the appropriate discussion board elsewhere on subguns.com. OFF TOPIC POSTS WILL BE SUMMARILY DELETED.

5. Keep it civil, as elsewhere on the site, foul language and obscenity in the subject line will not be tolerated.
We reserve the right to summarily delete, or modify such posts.

6. Please be aware that all anonymous and derogatory posts are logged before they are deleted, and an effort is made to determine the source of those postings. That information may be made public and is always available to the aggrieved party upon request.

Vegas SMG,

Glad you brought that to my attention. I'll try posting on the NFA discussion area.

I have 2 of the barrels you are discussing. One I bought before the group buy, one after the group buy ended. There were some mechanical issues that needed to be resolved and took some time but both barrels work fine in my MK760 and Stemple. All my dealings were satisfactory and direct with Luis. I never had any contact with the other fellow.

Heard from Luis and Rusty tonight

Hope springs eternal. Mr. Morales and Mr. Hogan both called me tonight. I hope this comes through. FWIW, Mr. Morales assured me that I'd either get my barrel or my money back.
