Hi, all.

Has anyone ever heard of the Steyr AUG 3x factory optic having a canted reticle? I honestly can't tell if the one I got over the weekend is slightly canted to the left, or if it's just a matter of my eye getting used to how the optic looks/feels. I also picked up the AUG A3 M1 this weekend (my first AUG), so I'm also still getting used to the rifle in general.

Also, how does one actually use the "fixing" screw that's on the housing opposite the windage and elevation knobs. Do you just loosen it, make your adjustments, and then once zeroed tighten it back up to "fix" the reticle in place? The scope (from Atlantic Firearms) didn't come with any documentation or even a box - just the scope in a sealed plastic bag. And the only manual I can find online refers to the "fixing" screw, but doesn't indicate how it should be used.

Thanks in advance!

I have never seen or heard of a canted reticle, but that is not to say it is impossible.

The fixing screw is the screw that mounts the tube in the housing, do not remove it, iirc that would release the nitrogen in the tube. (I will check my resources to confirm)

Also, removing it isn’t going to let you rotate the tube, it is pretty much in the position it is.

Make sure you aren’t canting the gun or your head on the gun- the AUG stock is pretty wide compared to an AR-15 or AK stock.

Ah! Okay... so then I definitely will not mess with the fixing screw. For such an important piece of info, Steyr sure does make it impossible to find on google, youtube, reddit, etc. Even the only Steyr manual I could find online (for the AUG/A3 SF / M1 scope) mentions the fixing screw, but mentions nothing about *not* messing with that screw. You'd think they'd put a big ol' warning note in there somewhere.
