Hey Troops,

Dumb question, and I haven’t posted here in a while…. But My internet FU is weak…. Been looking for anyone that makes a Sterling
SMG, (Not Wiselite!) threaded barre…. Preferably in 1/2x28……To use a direct tread or tri-lug suppressor… I have looked all over with no luck! I guess Tornado Tech could rig something up… but I’m sure it would be pricy….. I’m a little surprised with all the Sterlings and Stenlings out there no one seems to produce one!
Thanks!!!
Fred

Hey Duke…. Thanks Ya Sir, Please do!

Hey Saxon, that is a very slick set up…and a unique solution to the funny snout on the L2A3! I have three cans that this may work on…. A SWR Trident 9, a Bowers CAC9 (just updated by Town Bowers) , and a YHM R9…. I will have to check if they are compatible with the 1.375x24 thread pattern…. While at first blush it looks a little pricy… but I have seen stock Sterling barrels going for more on Gunbroker, and that appears to be a very high quality adapter!

The only issue with the StingerWorx adapter is it won't work with Sterlings that have the thick epoxy wrinkle paint like you find on, for example, Andrewski builds. The adapter is a tight fit on the "nose" and it just won't go on unless you remove the paint (something I wasn't willing to do on mine).

Thanks for the insight Cortlan….. I’m going to order one of these kits…. I’m not all that worried about having to remove a little flinsh, if required…. I have a small range in my backyard, and fairly close neighbor, this will let me shoot at home rather then pack up and head to the range!

You have the right attitude! Deep down I know I need to take the paint off the snout of my Andrewski build and use the adapter and can I bought just for this purpose ... I'm just not there yet emotionally. ?

Talked to Mike @ TT.

Yes He can thread but needs too see pics.
Some have original bbl's others have different variations of aftermarket bbl.

either way.......the wrinkle paint is sometimes an issue.

He knows of the above adapter part..Its pricey and I think only works with Their can...idk....undetermined.

He's getting mine as well as a few other guns next week to do His majic.

Just had my stamp clear on mine and ordered the StingerWorx end cap in hopes that it will fit both my gun and the intended can (O9k)

Will keep you posted on my progress.

Steve, the O9k is the Alpha threaded on the mount side, 1.125x28. The StingerWorx adapter is HUB (same as SilencerCo Bravo) 1.375x24. So your O9k would need an intermediate adapter like https://www.eccomachine.net/product/alpha-to-bravo-adapter/ to mount. You might want to contact StingerWorx about making a L2A3 mount to SilencerCo Alpha.

Many folk would warn against stacking two adapters fearing risk of poor alignment.

Old reddit thread on HUB compatibility

Thank you for that info, @HighriseATX
I’m new to the Sterling and will reach out to StingerWorx to see what they can do. Many thanks!!!
