Any idea if a screw on suppressor made from part of the barrel and nut for the Sten MK II would screw onto the Sten MK V.

Or another way to ask is are the MK II and MK V barrels interchangeable ?

Thanks Lj

If you have a C&R Mk5 probably not. The Mk5 front trunion should have a barrel locating pin to keep the barrel upright. A Mk5 barrel will work in a MkII gun with no problems.

The Brits got around this for their Mk5(S) guns by making a split ring collar so that they could fit a MkII(S) silencer. The split collar also had the effect of being able to adjust headspace.

The Mk6 (factory silenced Mk5) eleminated the barrel locating pin.

Thanks bsn.

Both the MK II and MK V are tube guns. Fact MK V built from a MK II.

Just wondering if I got one of the regular MK II suppressor types ( enclosed ported barrel ?) if I could also use it on the MK V.

Pull your MkV barrel off and look from the front. If there is not a pin from the top then you are golden.

But I'm sure that there would be to hold your Mk5 barrel upright. It would fit into the notch in the top of the Mk5 barrel collar.

Well with the MKII all you would need to do is split the stop ring to fit a MKV with the pin.
