I’m buying one. I shot a suppressed Hi Power a few weeks ago and it was amazing.

I have a nice 1990's silver chrome version......same type I stupidly sold in the late 1990's.

Great pistol; hard to a) improve on the ergonomics and b) understand why in the name of John Moses Browning he thought that awful magazine disconnect was needed. Make the trigger awful until you remove it.

The MSRP price is quite fair for a metal old-school gun.

The mag safety was necessary because the French wanted it, what became the P35 BHP was in response to a French military request for a new handgun.

Now, when the French passed on it and FN retained the mag safety when they sold it elsewhere, Browning was no longer in the picture. No idea why FN kept it as it added cost to making the gun and likely would have sold well without it. Certainly later in it's 83 year production run when the number one mod to the guns was it's removal, you would think FN would make a version without the safety. Costs less to make and they could charge $20 more for the "unsafe" model! Hey, it works for S&W...

Always wanted a BHP, but kept putting it off due to the cost for a decent specimen. Brownells has these advertised for $680, so once the initial demand tapers off (and any problems are discovered by the "beta tester" first purchasers) I can see these for around $650 or even less on a Black Friday sale somewhere. Might as well spend them greenbacks, they are losing value parked in my savings account...

I'd love to have one; at one time I had a FEG "Hi-Power, and actually prefer the design to the Glock.

I've had mine since the early 80's. Other than taking out the mag disconnect the only other change I did was put on Hogue grips. Keeping the original wood ones in a nice safe place. They're red on the inside and I think I heard somewhere that there is some significance to that but I don't remember what it is. .....Only about 500 rounds down the pipe. I take it out occasionally, shoot a couple of mags, oil it up and back in the safe. It's in 100% condition. Bought it brand new for around $400 if I remember right.

I have a Belgian one that was in pretty rough shape, blowout import from Aim Surplus, refinished with new grips. I'm in for another, like the upgrades SA did.

Nothing but love for the Belgian/Nazi and Belgian/Portuguese I’ve called my own. (missing a pic of an engraved Louis XVI I had).

The sights on a new Springfield are too low for a suppressor. This ‘94 factory hard chrome with Millet sight just barely cleared the Octane9. Plan accordingly.

I will be in for one also. If one can be found to buy that is. Have only seen a few specimens out in the wild on GB and Guns International. They are in the $1300-$1400 range. Can probably obtain a FN one for that much $$.

Correct. Spend a couple hundred or so more for an original one with box / papers....it will always be worth more than the SA version.

Maybe an original for keeper and the SA for a shooter. But as for myself...all my guns are shooters so that makes it an easy answer, plus I already have an original

Just like the Ruger 57, Kel Tec PMR 30, Colt Python, etc., the list goes on, there will always be people that have too much money to spend. I'll wait till the dust settles and get one
below MSRP.
