Correct but I bet that a thinner version would 'work' for the shorter MACs. I wonder what an M-11 would do with a slim speed cube. Could one get into minigun ROF's? Maybe I'll cut down one of my home made cubes...............
Usually 1900rpm is highway speed.

This Mac did 3100.

Rare bird.

Nice!!! Do you know how that was done?
Very old vid. I read his comment the ammo was hand loaded and he added layers of mousepad to shorten stroke as much as possible, for all we know it could‘ve barely held the sear and then was a runaway when the trigger was pulled. Who knows but it’s on the far edge of reality. Curious if it was a full 30 rounds… strobro?

That said, I caution on making your own buffers (aside from 3D printed cubes) as I bought shoe glue and made replacement buffers from mousepads… that made the ejector rod not sit right over its full length and turned my 100% reliable 31c into something that fired 3-15 rounds before getting an empty case behind the bolt. Got rid of the garbage buffer (put tattered old back in) and went back to 100%.

Just ordered a 5 pack of buffers from Sam for $16 shipped. 😅

At some point, you will start outruning the spring in the mag feeding rounds and jams will start to occur...
My guess is ~1800 RPM is about the max RPM even with a very strong spring.
Looking forward to seeing your results!

Good point on safety for new shooters and the mag spring. I'm already leary on letting anyone shoot the gun with the front end being so short.
Pick up a cheap barrel extension so they have something to hold on to, and start with maybe 3-4 rounds and assess from there.

The first accessory that I bought for my M11-380, even before I bought extra magazines, was a barrel extension. And similarly, new shooters only get 10 rounds in their first mag, and their first 3-4 shots are done in semi auto to get a feel for the trigger and recoil.
MHO, YMMV, etc.
