Hello,
Does anyone have a source for actual proper size and resistance weight replacement recoil springs that are actually finished properly on both ends, and made for the original Powder Springs MAC 10 9mm guns, to the proper length, and not a cut off piece of spring stock? I’ve had this gun for a long time and don’t want to beat it up with an improper replacement. I’ve ordered from a couple of vendors and can’t seem to get a spring that is proper. Thanks.

These springs from the usual retailers are all going to be “cut off pieces of spring stock” but I can assure you that the practical solutions spring is a quality spring that is cut to the exact correct length with proper tension. I do not think there is anyone that manufactures an exact length spring that is finished on the ends like you describe, they’re all going to be cut off pieces from longer rolls of coil spring, but the practical solutions spring is 100% correct, I use them on all of the bolts I restore and repair and have never had any issues. They have both 9mm and 45 springs, both are different sizes with different tension. They are a small business, and they are very knowledgeable about Ingrams, Sam and Tina won’t sell you anything that isn’t a good working replacement for the OEM component.

If you want a proper spring that is finished end to end the way you describe you will likely have to contact a spring manufacturer and provide the specs you are seeking and have them made, expect a minimum order of 1000 or something to that effect.. otherwise you are going to have to settle for a piece that was cut from a longer piece of stock, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a proper working spring. As long as it’s cut to proper length and made from the correct size spring with proper tension it will work fine in your gun and won’t cause any problems.
