SOG Galil/Golani

Hey Guys,

I hate to have a one track mind, BUT..... I am thinking of getting a Galil or Golani and have been shopping around.... I came across this deal at SOG for their rifle.... they "claim" theirs is made from "NEW" galil parts, listed as a "Galil Type" rifle....not a Golani. On an "american made" receiver. SOG's does come with a wood handgard, their price is $795 vs. the $599 deals elsewhere.

Does anyone know if this is the same old Golani with an wood handgard, or is this something different.... maybe better quality control? It would be worth the extra bucks for higher quality.... better parts, but I don't want to get fleeced if it is just a higher price!

P.S. Century is also advertising free shipping on orders over $500 and a free "mystery item".... #MA 1076..... I am guessing a bayonet or cleaning kit...does anyone know?

Looks like the typical Galil /Golani built from the surplus kits.A new unused kit will set you back $750,just for the kit.

So this is not a wiz bang deal.... just a golani with a wood handgard.... I guess with the $200 I save I can afford an extra wood one!

sog does not have wood forearms on their centurys yes i know the pic shows wood but its not . and they have them on sale for 599

I may have to break down and call Century and see if I can, using all my charm.... find an answer to this daunting question of our time!!
