That's a pretty good lineup for your first time shooting full auto. You're probably still grinning ear to ear.

i sure am still smiling .. when i play the video back .. i end up laughing at myself every time .. it was a great line up ..

joe i dunno what kinda m60 it was .. but it ran 100 % ...
the mg42 jammed up alot thou ..
they had all the belt feds on bipods for shooting prone but .. i said look guys .. can i shoot this standing up ? ... ( cause i wanted to do it rambo style ) .. they were hesistant at first but saw my size ( im 6'6'' and 235+) and okd it .. they had one guy to me left and another to my right with his hand on my right shoulder as i shot, just to let me know he was there and to catch me if i lost balance .. but it was great .. i bought a 100 rd belt and it was gone in seconds ..
only thing i kinda wish was that the 60 ran a lil faster .. they had a mg42 on a tripod with that lever thing for a trigger, and THAT ran fast .. i would have LOVED to shoot that standing up ..

my favorite like i said was the SAW .. lemme just say .. those guys who deposited money for the shrike ? .. well .. i now know why .. but .. this just makes me want to get a 60 now .. but semis are 6000 .. to much for me .. ill have to get a RF 1919 and deal with it ..
if the skrike ever comes out.. i WILL be buying one ..
i also COMPLETELY forgot to buy a ticket for the BAR .. i dunno when the next time will come around when i can shoot a full auto BAR also .. pisses me off .. oh well ..
untill next shoot !
god bless belt feds ..

When you are going full auto its good to save money where ever you can. A free pass is a good place to start.

RE: Machinegun shoots

I went to the Pumpkin shoot in Litchfield N.H. on Saturday, worked Sunday.

Got to shoot my AC556 thats still in transfer to me (runs like a top) and also a STEN MKII that I'm buying in a couple of weeks. In shooting the STEN, I was able to test several of the hundreds of mags that I have for it. Ya I know its a lot of one kind of mag, but they work in many 9mm subguns that have conversions and they were cheap. All of them functioned fine and that gun didn't miss a beat. Stens are a nice smooth firing very controllable subgun and easy on the wallet(for now anyway).

Fired a drum through a virgin Uzi with no problems also. That gun will be my wifes shooter.

Also fired a Russian PKM in 7.62X54R, a Chinese RPD in 7.62X39, my Thompson, a 1919A4 in 8mm Mauser with a lightweight Israeli bolt....sounded like an MG42....fast as hell!!!!!!!!!
Along side it was an M2-50 Browning....man what a gun! That thing tilled the soil on the bank with ease.

Met Jimmy2times there, he fired a couple of mags from my Vector Uzi, one at cost( donation for the club) and one on me. He's psyched about getting his greencard and a Vector.

A good time was had by all, and it was a safe day of shooting.

I was in Westfield, and brought my Group mini and a few other things. Lots of fun, well run.

As far as the MG42s not as reliable as the M60. I suspect that is either cause of poor Turkish ammo or maybe rewelded MG42s. But I will find out when my MG42s come.

You've got to like a guy that has MG42s coming.

I know a guy with an MG34 and his gun shoots like a charm with good ammo and is a real pain with the wrong ammo. That would be the first thing I'd suspect.

Lets hear more about this Group Mini of yours. Is it a Group receiver or a conversion they did?

It is an open bolt RR that I bought through Vector, but it is papered as a Group. It has a Hebrew lower on it which I requested from them. I recently bought 3 more of these from Midwest because they have a bunch of new ones left, and then I have 2 full size Vectors, and a Micro which is a conversion from an IMI pistol. And then I have a semi pistol, a semi mini, and 3 model-B semis.

I am not an expert, but I happen to think the Vectors are better than IMIs. Not just because they are not converted, but because they just seem to have a higher standard of finish and I hear they are hardened better.

A perfect conversion of an IMI would be nice, but only if it was really restored to factory full auto perfect and restamped correctly and I think most of them did not have that much labor put into them.
